To find Joe Wicks a pain in the bum since he became a dad

I know I could easily sort this problem by unfollwing him on Instagram. I used to enjoy his feed it was positive and cheered me up but since he became a dad he has become a smug first time parent who thinks he knows it all. He constantly posts about how laid back they are and how you just have to stay calm ......

I would say his millions and flexible life probably helps with that being that they are on a month long holiday.

As a harassed parent of 3 children I want to laugh when he suggests you just need to nap with the baby etc
There is no point to this just wondered if I'm a moody cow or anyone else feels the same :p

How do you actually know he has an easy baby just because of some pictures- sounds like he is just expanding his brand

NewAccount270219 · 27/04/2019 09:07

DS will normally eat anything btw - but it's pretty obvious to me that this is because:
a) he has no capacity to ask for the specific food he wants, so obviously we pick all his meals
b) he doesn't yet know about junk food! Obviously he'll eat my heavy and quite horrible 'baby led weaning carrot muffins', because he doesn't know what actual cake tastes like. Once he does I assume he'll be like 'what the hell is this and why doesn't it have sugar in it?'

Oblomov19 · 27/04/2019 09:09

He's too smug. His parenting now, in 5 star hotel, is not RL.

harper30 · 27/04/2019 09:09

I think he seems like a lovely guy and I'm genuinely happy seeing his posts as my first DD is almost the same age as Indie.
However, I agree with PPs who have all said of COURSE you're having a fucking great time as a first time parent if you're a bloody millionaire who spends months in California and Columbia or wherever the hell the are currently.
And she is clearly a very very easy baby. I also have a very easy baby, she's playing/watching Frasier while I read this thread 😂 but I have no illusions, she's not calm and chilled because 'I'm just constantly calm all the time and it's shaping her personality' I'm just super lucky, I genuinely have nothing to do with DD being an easy baby! I'm scared to have another as I assume it will not be straight sailing again, hopefully it will be the same for JW and he'll not be as smug next time round 😂

PositiveVibez · 27/04/2019 09:11

I thought he was a twat even before he had a baby, so yanbu at all.

FATEdestiny · 27/04/2019 09:13

I followed Joe Wicks a couple of weeks ago.

We will see if Kayla Itsines goes the same way. She's 30-odd weeks of with her first. I follow her for exercise not parenting. I'll be pissed off if she goes the Joe Wicks smug FT parent route.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned midget trees yet. I bought one book and the midget trees thing made me want to throw it out of the window. Plus his videos at the time were really dull - don’t know if he’s upped his game since.

Bluewall · 27/04/2019 09:16

NewAccount270219 I always find sorting out time off when the kids are sick stressful and can end up DH and I trying to justify to each other who needs to call in work. Fingers crossed your DS improves over the weekend.

I don't know if he realises he is taking most of us feel a bit crap with his posts I think he really believe he is inspiring us ..... which is almost worse.

YANBU. I can't stand him. Very annoying!

NorthernRunner · 27/04/2019 09:23

Oh Christ he was insufferable before being a parent.

Iamnotagoddess · 27/04/2019 09:24

Omg what an absolute knob.

Mascarponeandwine · 27/04/2019 09:28

Ah the world of pr. all smoke and mirrors. Likely they had one meal out all together to “be just like us”, then handed her over to one of their staff the next day.

StealingYourWiFi · 27/04/2019 09:28

He blocked me on social media when he just started getting popular with the lean in 15 stuff. No love lost here.

ZigglesAndPaws · 27/04/2019 09:28

‘Baby trees’... it’s fucking BROCCOLI you absolute knob!

Sorry. I’ll have another coffee Blush

HalfStar · 27/04/2019 09:32

It's terrible but I just love threads about smug pfb parents (having been a smug pfb parents myself once too of course). It's lovely really when you think that a new human makes us be so daft.

NewAccount are you just going back to work now after ML and DS is ill? If so, ugh, you have my every sympathy. This part is sooooo stressful but it is a blip and one day you'll be looking back going 'thank Christ that part is over with.' so stressful, though, I get it.

HalfStar · 27/04/2019 09:34

I also think Joe's partner is reading his posts going 'wtf are you on about you tit' as she is doing the heavy lifting in the background. Classic dad boasting

Minai · 27/04/2019 09:35

Yes, I know exactly which post you are talking about and one of my friends has commented on it with a similar comment to yours. I can’t stand it when parents of a new baby so smug about their amazing parenting and how you just need to be relaxed and they will fit in with you. Yeh just wait until they are a toddler and you have other kids and we will see how great you are then! And easily said when you have loads of money and not working 9-5

Purplejay · 27/04/2019 09:44

I always found him a bit smug! Insta and YouTube are full of people saying there way is the best. Sounds like you agree with him on food and fitness but not on parenting, which is fair enough. It is easier with one remember.

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 27/04/2019 09:46

Also coconut oil has nutritional properties slightly worse than lard.

Is that right?! Shock

ReadWriteDraw · 27/04/2019 09:55

I think that JW is very generous with his content and that says a lot about him. You could follow his plan using his free YouTube and Instagram stuff without spending a penny.

Coconut oil - the scientific jury is still out on that one. There’s real conflicting views on it. Olive oil on the other hand is goof for you in moderation.
