To think DSis was being snide

DSis: I bet you are really looking forward to half term.

Me: Oh yes!

DSis: You are so lucky to get all the school holidays off, wish I was off work every few weeks!

I work in support role in a school, school holidays are unpaid, but mean I can look after my DD.

DSis does not work in a school, nor does she have children.

How is that 'snide'? Confused

I used to work term time only and loved being off work every six/seven weeks or so.

Erm you do have time off every few weeks, it's fact. If you were a teacher, very different as you'd have loads of planning, marking, prep, Ofsted hoops to jump through, in the holidays. You just get time off and of course you shouldn't be paid for all that time.

I can't see how that is snide?

Hmmmmm no, I don’t think that’s snide. Sorry.

Most people I know say stuff like that. Why is it snide?? (Waits for the back history)

It’s not snide-it’s true!! I say that as a teacher.
