To wonder where my bloody period is? 🤔

I’m 14 days late.

Sometimes irregular but ever more than a few days. This is very unusual.

I did have some pms for a day or two but now it’s totally gone. Although having a little nausea and loss of appetite.

DP and I are using condoms and unaware of any breakages. I took a pregnancy test on Monday and Wednesday, both were negative. So I doubt I’m pregnant.

Do have a bit of stress atm (dissertation due in at uni) but I don’t feel stressed enough to warrant this.

🙄 it’s never happened to me before but am I just ‘skipping’ this period?

DH has gone to get some. We shall see, I’d written off being pregnant given that I’ve have 2 negatives so far 😊

Oh I’m 27 btw, for those commented about age related stuff. This has never happened to me before but I’m relieved to know it’s also happened to other and been fine xx

Yes I would test again too, it's very late!

FlaviaAlbia · 28/04/2019 17:37

I missed 3 months in a row once, I wasnt pregnant, I did loads of tests. Looking back, I was stressed and exhausted but didn't feel it at the time iyswim.

Came back as normal at 4 months and hasn't happened since. I was probably about 27 too as I changed jobs not long afterwards.

OneThreadOnly0101 · 28/04/2019 17:46

Haven't done any long haul travel recently have you? Or missed a significant amount of sleep?

Honeydukes92 · 28/04/2019 17:51

@onethread
No neither, went away for Easter weekend but only a couple of hours drive.

I’m about to hand my dissertation in for uni and take final exams, so mentally preoccupied but I’ve been very organised so not stressed really.

@Flavia
😧 Oh no! I’ll be gutted if that happens to me. DH and I want to TTC as soon as I finish uni (in a few weeks) x

I am mid 40s and missed one a few months ago.

But that's not surprising at your/our age. Mind you I'm just having more periods rather than less at the moment. In my 20s my cycle was 32 days. Now it's 26 with the odd 21 day cycle to mess things up a bit.

BarbarianMum · 28/04/2019 18:14

When I moved to West Africa years ago my period stopped for 6 months. I assume that was stress. For the 12 years before and for 25 years afterward I was regular as clockwork.

Honeydukes92 · 30/04/2019 15:16

Still nothing- at all.

DH bought the pregnancy tests. (Fancy expensive ones 🙄)

Given that I’m now over 14 days late, would it definitely show if I was pregnant?

OP posts:
Karigan195 · 30/04/2019 15:22

I’ve had this a few times. Usually connected with changes in birth control. Once went missing for 3 weeks. Loads of negative tests finally paid got a private scan and turned out I had fallen pregnant but the sac hadn’t developed past 4.5 weeks so the hormones weren’t enough to show up on a test. Another 7 days and my body ‘reset’

Honeydukes92 · 30/04/2019 15:26

@Kari

😞 I’m sorry that happened to you.

I haven’t been on any birth control in over a year. I honestly don’t know what to think x

OP posts:
Karigan195 · 30/04/2019 15:54

because it was negative test after negative test it never seemed quite real. I think if I had had a positive and then it happened I would have been devastated but I was more wtf than anything else.

Now due a little boy in August who’s definitely growing as he seems unable to sit still in there 😁

Namechangedcositstime · 30/04/2019 16:02

I would get yourself to the GPS for investigations especially as you want to TTC soon.

Good luck, hope you find it.

TheTrollFairy · 30/04/2019 16:02

Some people (although rare) don’t get positive pregnancy tests despite being pregnant.
I think the cheapy boots ones are supposed to be the most accurate (or is it Superdrug)

I wouldn’t bother testing again for another week or so and see where you are at then!
My periods can go a bit weird at times and as far as I’m aware I have only been pregnant once

youarenotkiddingme · 30/04/2019 16:22

I'm as regular as clockwork and sometimes so heavy I hate standing up.

Last summer I was due 6 days before I went on holiday. I was thankful as would be over the worst for travel and beach/swimming etc.

But oh no - for the first time EVER I was 4 days late. I swear our bodies do it deliberately!

I bet you will have one enough to count as 2 when your exams start 🙈

Or your pg with negative tests.

Honeydukes92 · 30/04/2019 16:26

Negative test.

I shall wait until my essays are all in (another 10 days) and then if nothing I shall go to the GP.

I actually had an ultrasound (for cramps) a couple of months ago and they checked my ovaries...etc: said everything looked perfectly healthy.

Just so random not coming on at all 🤔

GooodMythicalMorning · 30/04/2019 16:29

could just be stress. have had this happen lots

ellesworth · 30/04/2019 16:36

I'm the same, I have pcos so used to "one two miss a few" last night I could barely sleep for cramps. Had a bit of dark spotting as well. They've subsided now (cramps) but feeling nauseous. On the copper coil and (sorry if tmi) it's still there and cervix feels open (at least I think it does). Putting the nausea down to lack of sleep and dodgy period down to pcos for now.

DramaLlama32 · 30/04/2019 17:05

I have the odd occasion when I don't have a period for a month. I always put it down to stress especially if I have a lot going on that particular month

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/04/2019 17:40

I was on nothing for years and every so often I'd skip one. Wasnt pregnant at the time.

Then when I was pregnant I thought it was just doing it skipping habit until I felt very ill at work but I'd had a heavy weekend on the booze and thought I'd do a test on the off chance to rule it out and I was 5 weeks 5 days!

JaneEyre07 · 30/04/2019 17:45

I'd be inclined to wait and see if you miss another. If you do, then I'd book a GP appointment.

Just to rule out an ectopic really.

BenjiB · 30/04/2019 17:48

How old are you? I started skipping periods at 43. Now I’m 47 and they’ve stopped completely. No other signs of menopause until a couple of years back with hot flushes. I havn’t seen a doctor but assume I’m through it now!

GrandTheftWalrus · 30/04/2019 17:56

OP said she is 27

CanuckBC · 30/04/2019 18:20

Our bodies sure like to mess with us! I have been here before, waiting for my period to show. Lately I have been way less predictable due to having a coil in. The good news is my flow is way lighter, less symptoms and less days. The bad news is I am not on any predictable cycle🙄. It sucks when I am at Tae Kwon Do 🥋 in a white uniform and she shows up! I h

CanuckBC · 30/04/2019 18:22

Arg! I have now finally brought extra stuff with me after it happening twice😡

I hope you get an answer soon. Either PG or your period! At least of your PG it’s not too far off from when you planned on starting to try.
