I spend my time on the web on BuzzFeed, Mumsnet, reading the news and looking up recipes. I feel like IABVVVU as I am sure there must be loads of other sites I could look at. Can anyone give me some suggestions please??

If you like horrors creepypasta is good. Short stories and some are AMAZING

Thanks Inspector... I think I did follow a link from BuzzFeed to there once, something about staircases in the forests. It really creeped me out!!

I'm the same OP, I flit between here and news websites. So I'm interested to see what suggestions you get

Serious Eats is full of excellent recipes and really fascinating articles about the science of food. Stella Parks’ pastry recipe is now my go-to for pies and tarts.

Smitten Kitchen is a blogger/cookbook writer with fabulous recipes.

David Lebovitz is interesting, entertaining and has terrific recipes.

I also like The Boy Who Bakes and Dan Lepard.

For generally fascinating stuff, Messy Nessy Chic. www.messynessychic.com and Open Culture, www.openculture.com

Goodreads and IMDB are great for finding books and movies/tv shows to watch. Trip advisor for reviews .

What are your interests?

reddit - there is something for everyone and something for every mood. I prefer to browse it on my phone though because of the format. I used to spend lots of time on Facebook before I discovered reddit nearly 3 years ago, now I maybe check FB once a week - which can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned!

Looking at my browsing history it's mostly You Tube, BBC News, AIBU (and a bit of Sporner Corner Envy (not envy) which I only discovered recently, but I love!), the Guardian (I mostly read the Life & Style stuff and Opinion pieces rather than news), lots and lots of Game of Thrones chat rooms/fan sites etc., BBC iPlayer, Wikipedia (I seem to go there after looking up one specific thing, and find myself still there, 3 hours later reading in depth about the breeding cycles of wild hares) and a (obviously completely legal) TV and movie streaming site.

I'm interested to see what others suggest!

You could expand your news reading to include completely different viewpoints, try Al Jazeera, Russia Today, South China Morning Post or ANA News

Or good news www.positive.news

Longform.org favourite website ever

Wow thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely have a look at all of them. My interests are focused at the moment on improving my swimming so eventually I can swim outdoors. I also enjoy knitting (I did forget to mention ravelry in original post, sorry). I dislike Pinterest as so often I find something that looks lovely to make, and the links never seem to lead to the patterns.
