Hmm, well looking at piggy bank for new baby in the family (JLewis is my go to for lovely baby gifts), and found this when I searched for money box. An upside down "playful" rabbit with bound looking arms designed so that pennies are posted into the slot between it's legs. It is astoundingly crass and revolting.

How to take an innocent trinket and turn it unmentionable, what were the buyers thinking? Hey look we can do the degrade women and sexualise children message all at the same time, all in the guise of "playful", cos if you don't laugh you are just too boring anyway. It's like they forgot about target markets all together.

This is a money box, but not one I would ever give as a gift and if I ever received one of these I wouldn't be inviting that gift giver back!

I am feeling a little Shock at my usual failsafe JLewis right now!

I don't think IABU to think yuck, AIBU?

Complete with an open slot and a rubber plug

Yes it would be much more tasteful to have the slot on in the head and the rubber plug stuck up its bottom. Oh wait.

degrade women and sexualise children message

How do you know it's a girl bunny?
How do you know it's designed for children? None of the rest of their range looks like it's for kids.
Girl rabbits are complete tarts tbf

You are hilarious for being this outraged GrinGrinGrin

According to the John Lewis listing "Complete with an open slot and a rubber plug." Sound a bit rude to me!

Complete with an open slot and a rubber plug - first thing I saw to be honest. It's shit. Who in their right mind would pay £62 for that. YANBU. Yuk.

I wonder what receptacle people use to save up the £62 it costs to buy this money box.

I am struggling to understand why anyone would buy a money box for £62.00 when the sensible thing would be to either buy a money box from the pound shop and give £61.00 to fill it up, or write a cheque for £62.00 and put it in a card or transfer £62.00 directly into a bank account. Do people love John Lewis so much they are willing to essentially throw away £61.00 ?

It’s ugly and expensive and I don’t know why you put the more net in it’s bottom. But it’s arms aren’t tied and it doesn’t lol sexual to me.

still have no idea what you are on about. I am sure there's something about Playboy in there, but I am still not getting it. Help!

Be grateful - I bought a gun shell cartridge money box from a war museum and it looks like a dildo

It’s god awful to look at, from a purely aesthetic point of view. Who’d want one?

The name is worse though. Is it a play on Pol Pot? Confused

Well, the new baby probably won't mind the horrible money box.But later might have thought.that having a starter amount of £62 in it instead of a buyer paying that much for this awful thing.

Years ago, i bought a beautiful bronzey coloured pig money box, from a charity shop for £2, its not plastic or tatt, its ceramic, I still have it in my bedroom. its for spare pound coins usually. But I am a cheapskate person, and never ever been in a John Lewis store or such.

£62. Looks like a charity shop find.

It's Dutch, thus weird sense of humour like the Belgians.
