My husband has told me this morning that my snoring, during the night, is getting worse. I know it's my weight. I've gained a lot of weight recently and I'm so embarrassed Blush

There is a gym, which is 60 seconds from my house, it's cheap AND it's open 24 hours a day. I really do have no excuse.

Food makes me happy. I do enjoy healthy food but I find it so difficult to keep interested in new healthy recipes.

My husband leaves home early every day (before the children are even awake) which means I deal with getting them up, dressed, fed and off to school. All before I do a day's work also. I wake at 6.30am and I know I could go to the gym before this, say 5.30am, but does anyone actually do this? The thought of doing a work out BEFORE getting myself and 2 kids ready to leave the house, is just bloody soul destroying.

I know these are all excuses and I know what needs to be done but my question is, how do YOU do it, if you do? How do you motivate yourself every day to get in better shape, a shape that means I'm not rattling my darling husband as eardrums every night Grin ??

I do get up at 4:20am to be at the gym at 4:30. I love it though and then I come home, have breakfast and a shower before getting my 3 kids ready for the day and then when I was working I'd head off to work after the school run.
We are so busy after school with all different sports etc it was impossible to do it afterwards.

I really enjoy my gym time and it does become a habit after a while. Occasionally I'll sleep in and give it a miss when I need the sleep but I notice i do feel more sluggish on those days.

But honestly, food is the most important aspect when it comes to weight loss.

No to the 5.30am gym session!! Sounds terrible 😂. But you could go once your DH is home a couple of evenings a week.

But really losing weight is down to eating less. Much less. Get out of the habit of snacking. And give yourself smaller portions of three meals a day. But you know all this & you are the only person who can help you.

I have downloaded Couch to 5K and have set aside the 3 days a week. May also try and do Park Run too but won't overwhelm myself. Gotta start somewhere.

Thanks for all the advice!

@MummyStruggles my dad and sister both downloaded couch to 5k a couple of years ago, both started to do park run too to drop their weight (both overweight). Both ended up running the London marathon. You can do anything you set your mind to.

A lot of people actually put on weight if they go to the gym. The exercise is often used to validate poor nutrition, such as going to the gym and later in the day having something like a cake with their coffee but the cake contains a lot more calories than the gym burned off. However it does make you fitter

I agree with @purplereindeer exercise motivates me to eat better. I do manage early morning sessions but I am a shift worker so I don’t need to get up really early every day which probably makes it easier.

Find something you enjoy. I started at a CrossFit gym earlier this year and I love it. So much more encouraging than other gyms I have been a part of and my coach is amazing.
