Thinking of doing an e-book
Any advice on 1) How to go about doing an e-book ?
and 2) How do I obtain images for it ?
I want to use photos . If I get them from the internet , how do I make sure they aren’t copyrighted? Thanks
Ps going out shortly but will look at replies later in case it looks like I’m not updating/ replying
Thanks!

PlatinumBrunette- thanks so much Yes, I do want it on amazon . Do you know how much it would be to buy 3 photos or to ask a photographer to take 3 photos ? Approximately? Or does anyone know? Thanks

There’s not really an answer to that. Depends what stock library you use (I’ve used Shutterstock and iStock when my client wanted stock photography before) and their terms of usage.

If you commission a photographer it will cost more but again it would depend on what you want photographed, how long it will take etc. But you would have the advantage that you can have exactly what you want and they will be exclusively yours.

I would think commissioning photos would be very expensive, tbh. Have you looked on Pixabay yet? Are the photos of something fairly ‘standard’? Or a bit more niche?

Another place you could look is wiki commons commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page but do check the terms of use,

Good news - there are some photos on Pixabay - so I can just go ahead?

Check the rules on Pixabay. And it’s always a good thing to make attribution to the photographer if possible. But yes, go ahead!

Thanks PlatinumBrunette that’s great
Was looking to see if Pixabay had an email address but can’t seem to find one....

@Sunnyday125 You don’t need an email address for Pixabay. Just use the attributions shown alongside the picture you want. Get your book written first, that’s the important bit 😉

Thanks for your help 👍
