Rescue centre for Doberman?

I want a dog, something like a Doberman. I love the idea of rescuing one that actually needs a home but is it advisable with a breed like this?

Pros - an existing dog needs a loving home
- hopefully it will be already out of the puppy stage

Cons - it may have issues and a breed like that can do a lot of damage if it decides you have pissed it off
- will I still get the same bond with an older dog?

I have owned German shepherds and Rottweilers before but never a dobie. My German Shepherd was a rescue, previously neglected and abused and one day suddenly turned on me (after being a lovely dog previously) and took a chunk out of my arm. I had to lock it in the living room to escape it’s attack so now I’m cautious

I'm sure google will give you a few breed specific rescues.

I had my dobie girl from a puppy. She was amazing. Easy to train, not interested in other dogs or people on a walk, loved a cuddle at home. She also loved kids for some reason despite never being around them.

She had a very deep bark and when I lived alone I felt safer knowing she was there.

Talking to some other Dobie owners though I may have got lucky, some have had issues with their dogs especially with chewing things.

I lost her aged 12 and she never gave me a minutes worry her whole life unlike my terriers 😂

I'd work on feeling cautious before you get a dog. You wouldn't want them to pick up on that.

I'd also say yes you get the same bond. I have a rescue staffy x and I have the closest bond with him. I love all my dogs but he is just something extra special to me.

He's so loving and loyal. Plus he came ready house trained, neutered etc.
