Parking for tutor

Aibu? Need a sanity check. I have engaged a speciality tutor to work with my son for 3 sessions (not cheap ... >£200 for the 3 sessions). I have just received an email following on from 3 previous texts to discuss her parking arrangements. My husband and I don’t drive and do not have a car. Our street is residential in London and there are typically several spaces available during the day. She just emailed to tell me she is cancelling our session if I cannot provide a parking pass for her. She lives locally. Aibu to be annoyed or should I make parking provisions for her? It seems really diva-ish to me — but I don’t drive so maybe I am missing something?

So if OP cannot guarantee parking/permits and the tutor isn't happy with this, there are two options:

  1. Arrange tuition for another location, either public or at the tutor's home.
  1. Accept that you will have to pay for the privilege of the tutor travelling to you. If they will have to turn down other clients to provide tuition for you at your home, which is really a convenience for you, then I would expect to make up the difference of what they will be losing.

Yes, at the end of the day the tutor is entirely within her rights to turn down work if parking can’t be guaranteed. However I am wondering whether they are at cross-purposes and tutor thinks that OP is refusing to do something that actually is possible. OP, not being a driver, perhaps you are using the wrong terminology of she is still insisting because all you would have had to say is “there are no parking restrictions on our street and usually plenty of spaces”. You could send her a link to your borough’s page on where the CPZs are?

Offer to send and pay for an Uber?
