Bloody hell. I went swimming earlier today as normal. Getting dried, I noticed my bum was stinging & I made a note to check it out when I got home. Well bloody hell it seems I have a haemorrhoid the size of a small baked bean! I'm horrified. It's not like I've just given birth or something. I eat a healthy diet & don't strain on the loo. Neither do I spend all day sitting around. I've no idea why this happened to me but what I do know is it's f*ing painful. I feel so ashamed. How did you get rid of yours? I don't want this to ever happen again.

Name changed.

OP I was going to start a thread about my miracle cure but you beat me to it. I am a piles expert, got one during pregnancy nearly 20 years ago that thrombosed during the delivery and it's all gone from there. I've acquired new ones both internally and externally over the years, been hospitalized from pain, required iron infusions due to chronic anaemia because of bleeding. I've tried everything and I've been told to live with it.

Anyway I haven't really found anything to be good, I was on holiday abroad once and had an attack and the pharmacy gave me a topical local anaesthetic gel which was amazing. Within minutes the pain was away. I don't get stingy pain, I feel like I am being sodomized with a broken glass bottle, the pain is horrendous, I've passed out a few times because of pain, giving birth was nothing compared to this. Anyway my GP was horrified when I requested the gel and said it was surgical use only in the UK so no chance of a prescription Sad

To get to my point.....I had a recent flare up and could not get relief and read about using garlic cloves to shrink them. I was desperate so thought I would give it a go. Cut a sliver of the clove and inserted it, the first ten minutes was agony...BUT after that it really did give relief and I've been doing it regularly now and my main pile is actually shrinking Smile Best to do it at night for maximum exposure to the garlic. I did read about crushing garlic and using coconut oil to make a proper suppository but haven't got around to that yet.

Sorry I have gone into detail, but I don't get to talk IRL about this much and I am soooo happy that I have now found something that works!

@Thepacksurvives I'd expect the packet say as everything says check with your doctor whilst breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding Network have a range of Drugs in Breastmilk fact sheets compiled by the wonderful Dr Wendy Jones who got an MBE for her work this year. Look for Haemmhorhoid and Anal Fissures.
