Children on their own, watching film on LOUD on train

Two children seem to have been left completely alone, for the past half hour, and are watching Nanny McPhi or whatever that shite is, on a train that’s otherwise beautifully quiet.

AIBU to scream for their parents? Both are under 8 and don’t want to tell them off... do want to tell the parents off AngryAngryAngry

Why don't you just ask them to turn it down? They might be too young to realise it's causing issues.

QuestionableMouse · 18/04/2019 13:07

Just asked them nicely to turn it down a bit. No need for drama.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 18/04/2019 13:20

I'd be more concerned they have been left totally alone. Where are the parents?

Loopytiles · 18/04/2019 13:22

Ask them directly.

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 18/04/2019 13:27

Why cant you ask them, nicely ? Do you have a social disorder where you find it difficult to communicate?

RezCowgirl · 18/04/2019 13:27

So ask them to turn it down.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 18/04/2019 13:30

Just politely ask them to turn the volume down. They don't sound badly behaved or rowdy, so speaking to them isn't likely to lead to you being attacked ferociously.

Chouetted · 18/04/2019 13:38

Ask them to turn it down, or lend them some headphones if you have them spare.

Meandwinealone · 18/04/2019 13:40

Genuine question but why do kids not use headphones. Especially with how they’re designed these days.

And you can have two sets in one machine

And if I was an 8 year old being given the choice of no iPad or iPad with headphones I know what I would have chosen

Notmyrealname855 · 18/04/2019 14:30

The parents were on the opposite end of the carriage and sleeping !!!

Two groups of us asked them if they knew where their parents were, and if they could turn the volume down (as we didn’t want to ruin the ending!). Kids did turn it down, went back to turning it up to full... they were maybe 6 and 7 and we didn’t want to meanly tell them off

NO idea why kids aren’t given and told to use headphones. Tricky as at 8 you’d think they should know, but I’d maybe act out a bit if my parents abandoned me too
