Career coaching , advice - miserable and angry !

Hi , I know it’s aibu but as a mid career and mid life ‘professional’ I am finding myself at a very definite junction where I realise I don’t necessarily want to do my current role for the rest of my life . I pretty much hate my job right now . And despite having many transferable skills (and results) the job and culture is eroding me so much I feel that I have to make a change before I get seriously unhappy . After a meeting today I am angry , belittled and feel upset . This can’t Continue . And I am the main breadwinner so can’t just ‘jump ship’

But I want to talk to a sensible professional to map things out and get clarity and get mobilized to action . It’s important enough that I would dip into savings to fund it .

I was curious if anyone had this and could recommend any books , websites or organisations that helped them get to the other side . And any success stories ?

Thanks 🙏

If you are based in Central Scotland there is an amazing woman I can highly recommend - Andonella Thomson - my old employer paid for me to to have professional coaching with her. Unfortunately for them it gave me the confidence to cut ties with them and move on to a much more suitable and higher paid role, onwards and upwards!

If you're a graduate, you might be able to go back to your university careers services for career coaching. Some offer professional coaching services for their graduates.

The book suggested above is a good starting point and there's also this website www.life-pilot.co.uk/information/changing-job-or-career

Have a look at apeathy.com

Is there a professional body for career coaches? To help find one more locally.
