To dry clothes this way? 🤔

I only have a small yard, but when the weather is nice I prefer to dry our clothes etc outside on the line. Unfortunately, one wash of bedding and the line is nearly full, so I have an airer out there and I hang clothes on hangers and put them on the line (space them out and peg the hook to keep in place) so I can get more out. Apparently that’s weird but I’m just maximising my drying options 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 is it really so wrong?!

Never thought to do this. Sounds good though. I'm going to try it!

I must be weird too because I do this OP. Usually if I'm pushed for line space or if I've washed a shirt / top that's easier to iron if dried on a hanger rather than pegged

I'd be more concerned about someone getting so worried about how you dry your washing.....

I have always done this. Clothes on hangers, hanger hook pegged to line. Most clothes then straight into wardrobes....thought everyone did it.

the Lakeland hanger hooks look good. If i ever run out of pegs i may buy some however i am trying to stick to wooden pegs as part of the plastic revolution so it may take a while to run out

I frequently do this, as we've still not got round to buying a rotary line. Only trouble is, the wind does sometimes blow one of my (tall/narrow) airers over. The low/wide airer is always OK though!

The people we bought our house from used to string washing line across the garden on hooks attached to the fence posts... we also did this for a while but it didn't do the aging posts much good and we had to reset them in concrete this spring!

I live in SE Asia. Everyone does that here.

Just to clear up:
Airer is free standing, and the clothes that are on hangers are on the line. The hook of the hanger is pegged to the line if needed.

And good to know I’m not the only one doing this! Knew it wasn’t that out there 😂

Not unusual at all! Anything to maximise outdoor drying is great.

If they all end up dry ... you are doing it right 🤣

Love this thread, I'd never thought of doing this but I'll give it a go. The Lakeland hanger hooks look good too.
