Or does it not matter if the dead people are Egyptian?

DH watches a program with his glasses on about a team digging up mummy’s from tombs in Egypt. They get all excited when they drag these bodies out, show skulls and other body parts to the camera and bang on about what s great find it is. AIBU to think this is wrong? These are not historical artefacts, they’re dead people!

[http://medieval-graffiti.blogspot.com/2016/08/waking-dead-peering-up-bum-hole-of-past.html] - pretty much my thoughts on it (even though I'm not an archaeologist)

@Pluginwall What the writer/archaeologist couldn't reveal at the time was that he'd just found an Anglo-Saxon burial ground: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-37940012 so the public display of human remains was very much on his mind.

What I know is that he cared enormously for every person they found & gave them as much respect as if they'd been members of his family. Most archaeologists do - it's TV programmes like the ones mentioned above that do archaeology no favours beyind titillating viewers.
