To check this with the Gp?

Sorry to post here click bait style. Sorry it's long.

I have hypothyroidism and I believe have been well replaced - tsh was actually slightly low (0.3) last check 3 mo post partum last July I think and I think I've been fine since. If anything I've wondered if I'm on slightly too much at times. Gp has agreed a check in the next couple of weeks (saw him for viral hives.) I'm breastfeeding.

I had oral steroids for a bad cough virus (asthma) around 6 weeks ago. I haven't felt right since; I was extremely tired and dizzy coming off them and my milk supply severely dipped. Not long after I had a very dozy and dizzy weekend and then developed a rash on my arms and felt sunburnt all over. Gp thought viral and I've been taking antihistamines for the last two weeks as it kept flaring. Milk supply came back if anything slight over supply (which is causing latch and wind issues!)

On and off my fingers and feet have been feeling tingly and numb, Occasionally very cold. It's a symptom I've had on and off over the last few years since I had my first son. It got really bad this week and I've been struggling. Also tired and a bit weak. It's so bad at times I can't ignore it and it's not a nice feeling.

I had a small amount of Prosecco yesterday and fizzy soft drinks while at a friend's dinner party. Last night I woke up extremely tingly all over and feeling odd. I drank loads of milk to help me sleep and actually took a calcium and magnesium tablet hoping it might also help me sleep. My skin/ fingers etc did feel better a bit later and could sleep a bit.

I did some thinking and checked the hypoparathyroid foundation website and wondered if there's any calcium/ Hypoparathyroid stuff going. I passed it by DH and he didn't think I was nuts but I often worry about bothering the Gp despite the fact I do often need to for good reason! A number of symptoms seemed to be the same for mild - moderate low calcium. AIBU to see Gp?

Or just to self treat for a while through taking the calcium magnesium tablets (boots own). I've stupidly not been taking my breastfeeding tablets for a while. I do know you need extra when breastfeeding (via the British Thyroid Foundation, I'm a member) but I thought I was getting enough from diet tbh.

It's just that I'm going back to work soon and need to be well. Health problems have caused long term sickness in the past.

I would go to the GP, yes. They might want to run some blood tests and consider other causes if things don't improve and those are normal. I think you have good reason to go. Hope things improve.

Thanks. I have anxiety around speaking to the Gp after years of collecting illnesses! Tbh I mentioned it many years ago and he stuck a pin in my finger and pointed out it wasn't fully numb.

It's not fully numb but there's definitely a strange generalised feeling that's interfering with day to day stuff.

I had tingly hands (amongst a host of other things) before I was diagnosed hypothyroid. My TSH was 21 by the time I found out.

You haven’t been check for nearly a year and you’ve got a lot going on - go to the doctor!

I'd be extremely surprised it's thyroid levels but I do know that's a possibility, maybe actually too much.

I've had it for over 20 years and always stable on 125. I have to take more in pregnancy and when I took betablockers for stress.
