(Lighthearted, before anyone tells me to get a grip.)

Visiting my parents cat, (and them too) and spotted a large box of creme eggs for an event next week(there will be loads of spare) . Asked if I could have one and he said no! AIBU to think that is mean, especially as he brought me up to share things?!

Disclaimer: we get on very well)

AguerosAngel · 14/04/2019 13:15

YABU, they’re horrible, sickly things.

You dodged a bullet there OP

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2019 13:17

@PlainSpeakingStraightTalking we just been for an hours walk. So that would have been fine.

Can't smuggle the cat out. My cats wouldn't like it!

Sorry, I PMSLd at you saying you saying you went to visit the cat - oh and your parents too!! Grin

As for your DH depriving you of having a creme egg. What a bastard. I know a good divorce lawyer. Just let me know. Grin

FiveLittlePigs · 14/04/2019 13:35

Creme eggs have always been vile, he saved you from yourself.

Nowaytm · 14/04/2019 13:35

Lindt chocolate is delicious. Creme eggs are rank.

He was doing you a favour.

damnthatoneistakenagain · 14/04/2019 13:43

Just noticed it's your DAD not your DH. Daft! Sorry

standardaccount · 14/04/2019 13:52

I hate cream eggs, always have, always will.

Samind · 14/04/2019 14:00

Obviously you should disown them and seek visitation access to the cat.

Go big or go home OP.

Have you been referred for counselling? I know some egg-sellant facilities you could use. Have some Flowers from me and my big fat Galaxy egg. I'll be thinking of you. 😂😂

MeltingWax · 14/04/2019 14:04

Mean.

I remember the toffee/mallow eggs. And the slightly nauseous post-egg feeling which usually followed.

Durgasarrow · 14/04/2019 14:17

oh hell no

Saracen · 14/04/2019 14:32

YABU. You should've waited until your dad was out of the room, then asked the cat if you could have a creme egg. Bet the cat loves you enough that it wouldn't have said no.

vampirethriller · 14/04/2019 14:34

I'd go NC.
I still love crème eggs. I freeze them, smash them up and put them on ice cream if I'm feeling decadent.

MeltingWax · 14/04/2019 14:36

Frozen creme eggs, you say? Hmmmm...

fuzzyduck1 · 14/04/2019 14:49

Maybe your dad should have made you eat all of them to teach you a lesson! Like my dad did when he caught me smoking he made me smoke a whole packet.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2019 15:00

@Saracen unfortunately my DF is very much the cats favourite. So would definitely side with him. Quite unfair really, as I persuaded them to adopt him. And went to inspect him at his foster carers house.

MightyAtlantic · 14/04/2019 15:05

This is the kind of thing my dad would do. I'd just steal one probably two when he wasn't looking. But then I'm not very well brought up. Wink

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2019 15:26

I meant to. But completely forgot.

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2019 15:28

Ooh Caramel eggs. How did I forget the existed. Yummmmmmmm

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2019 15:29

Lol the bat mother speaks sense. Don't downplay this op.

Honeytothebee · 14/04/2019 15:39

Cream eggs don't taste like they used to so you're not missing much :-D

KittyInTheCradle · 14/04/2019 15:54

Maybe he had his eye on the extras? Can you blame him?

scubadoobie · 14/04/2019 16:17

@Badtasteflump

Aaaaah.....Toffee and Mallow Eggs..... made by Mackintosh, I think, We miss them badly too.

And WTF eats anything made by Cadburys these days? Their 'mocklate' is not only waxy greasy shit nowadays; more importantly, look at how the company treated its former UK employees and taxpayers. Lidl and Aldi are they way forward.
