To ask how best to deal with this

I found a lump in my breast, went to the doctor. The dr has referred me for an appointment at the breast centre (a one stop place where they do everything necessary).
My Aibu... I have just started at a new job and am unsure how to approach getting the time off.
A. Do I tell them I have an appointment and let them come up with suggestions. (This is what DH suggests)
B. Tell them about the appointment and say I will work before the appointment and go straight back to work after. (Am a nurse and work at the same hospital)
C. Ask to swap the day for another day. (Not very easy as where I work is shut over bank holidays so making the time up would be tricky)
D. Any other suggestions people have.

So as not to drip feed, I have previously had a gyane cancer, so am very nervous. I have just started this job after leaving a different job where I had poor sickness (work related stress).
Thanks

Just follow your offices procedures for docs / dentists appointments Confused if you weren't given a physical copy on joining or you don't have formal procedures then just ask a manager, surely?

Well, it depends what time of day your appointment is and how long it's likely to take. If it's at 9am, just say you'll be in afterwards. If it's after lunch, say you'll need to leave early. If you aren't sure how long it will take, say so. Don't swap the day, and don't kill yourself trying to get to work for ten minutes, but do what you reasonably can.
