11 month old DD exposed to chicken pox - BALLS!

Just to clarify why I'm so nervous about this (and before anyone tells me to get a massive grip), my uncle had severe complications and very nearly died from catching chicken pox as a baby. He's also still absolutely covered in scars. It's a story my grannie loves to tell me about a lot so it's hard not to be nervous...

Is there anything that I can do except watch and wait? I know I'm probably asking for the moon on a stick but just feeling a bit gutted and anxious about it. And the incubation period is so long too Sad

My DD2 caught chickenpox at age 6. Had it, got over it, no problems. A week later DD1 who was age 8 came down with it. Had it, developed thrombocytopenia, spent a week in the hospital and had to have platelet transfusions. It was a terrifying time for our family.
I made sure DS1 got the vaccine as soon as he was eligible.

Oh my goodness @GeorgiaGirl52, that sounds so frightening! Really hope your DD is back to normal now.

It is reassuring to also read about everyone who's little ones were exposed but didn't necessarily catch it. From what I knew about it I assumed it was so ridiculously catching it might be inevitable Confused DD was in the same room as this other baby for an hour. Not sure how close they got to each other and if it was often enough for her to get anything, but my DD is a bit of a whirlwind at the moment and everything goes in her mouth right now, so I'm not overly confident of her chances...
