To ask if anyone has experienced this after a Coil fitting

So, this is probably not the right category to put this in but just looking for a bit of reassurance really.

I had a copper coil put in yesterday. I have previously had a mirena but several years ago.
The procedure itself was not 'uncomfortable' it was more like being kicked up the fanny with an undulating stiletto shoe. This was partly my fault as I didn't have the anaesthetic (I'm allergic to lidocaine)

It was all over pretty quickly and I was told to stay still until I felt well enough to get dressed. Some five minutes later I was sitting chatting with the nurse when suddenly I couldn't see anything and passed out. I woke up to an oxygen mask on my face and lots of people around me. I quickly recovered and was sent home.
I haven't had any pain (a little period like cramping but nothing unbearable) and only a little light bleeding BUT I've felt so lightheaded that I've had to sit down twice this morning. It's like a blackness creeping in over my eyes.
Has anyone else had this? The clinic said only to worry if I had a lot of bleeding and a temperature. Should I call them? Will this pass?

Yes it’s called a vasovagal response isn’t it?
I work in healthcare so i have heard of it (and have an IUD) and this is why they make you sit down and wait a while. I find having my cervix touched at all makes me feel sick but I haven’t passed out

Keep an eye out (re infection signs) like they said
I hope you feel better soon

Yes. That's exactly what they said. I just couldn't remember the name. Thank you for your reply! I'll take it easy today and see how I am tomorrow.

Ref being stilettoed in the fanny - that's the pointy pliers they use to hold the cervix in place. They are far and away the most painful thing in an otherwise uneventful procedure, and they are not necessary for a competent medical professional unless you have a very very wobbly cervix. Ask them to do the insertion without using the "tenaculum" next time. Or "Get those fucking needle pliers away from me!", if you forget the name.

Pet peeve. Sorry, never had that sort of blackouts, only after giving blood - move slowly today, particularly when standing up from either bent over or sitting. If you still have it tomorrow, get medical attention.

😂😂😂😂 "needle pliers"
Absolutely horrific. Good to know that. Will remember that in 18000 years when I agree to get another one put in...

So much better without! It's uncomfortable but fine and doesn't leave you gasping for breath.
