Across the field from our house is council owned centre. In term time it’s used by schools to learn about the countryside and has staff. At weekends and holidays it’s rented out unsupervised. Usually it’s Duke of Edinburgh campers and there’s a bit of screaming and floodlights on all night, But for the last couple of years there has been a drumming school hiring it a couple of times a year for a week. They drum all day and up to 11pm sometimes, with breaks. They have the windows open and say it’s too hot with them closed. (I went over to complain the first time). They also said they’re here because it’s not got any neighbours, but there are a few houses nearby We are the nearest at 100yds away.

Am I being a country bumpkin? Would you mind drumming near your house (if you built a row of housing estate type houses between us and the centre you’d probably get 10 houses in)? It’s been 5 or 6 days now!

If I’m not, where do I start re putting a complaint in? I don’t think the centre staff care, they’re not there to hear it and I’ve mentioned it to them previously.

With the drumming school I think bu it's a couple of times a year. But the floodlights and screaming every weekend is a bit much have you written to them. To ask them to redirect the floodlights? Are they pointing towards the windows?

No the lights aren’t a worry, it’s not pointing at the house.

I just think that they ought to put air con or soundproofing in if it’s being used as a music camp regularly (its a local music centre from town that use it to camp and also bring the odd brass band group. ) It seems to be getting quite regular that they use it in the holidays..

Bit different I guess, but I do an exercise class on a Sunday morning in the middle of a housing estate (it's in a community hall). It's aerobic based so with loud music. The neighbours would quite rightly complain if we had the windows open so we have a few big fans that get put on periodically.

The drumming school should do exactly that. Having the windows open isn't okay when there is another solution.
