Pork dinner on a toastie.. husband in a strop

BarcelonaFreddie · 13/04/2019 01:40

My husband has just presented me with a breville:
Pork, roast potato, broccoli, carrot, Yorkshire pudding and cheese.
Am I being unreasonable - I turned up my nose to fuck, it was just plain weird.
He's now sulking and threatening to never ever make a toastie again as I am so ungrateful.

I have a panini press

My toasties now fit loads in, there's be room for all that. Sounds divine!

Poppins2016 · 13/04/2019 02:52

OP, I'm on your side, that sounds weird and not at all appetising!

BarcelonaFreddie · 13/04/2019 10:48

It was decidedly weird. It fit in because it was leftovers from actual pork dinner earlier, so not a whole Yorkshire pudding.

I'd give that a try at least once I think Grin

GarthFunkel · 13/04/2019 10:59

I'd swap the cheese for gravy but other than that, if it came with a cup of tea what more could you want at 2am?

vampirethriller · 13/04/2019 11:07

That sounds amazing.

Ncasouting19 · 13/04/2019 11:15

Check out this place

On toast
www.ontoast-uk.com/menu.html

He does alot of things in toastie including Mars bars, creme eggs, mincepie, Turkey dinner, hunters chicken, etc etc etc

He stopped doing banoffee they were my favourite.....

PregnantSea · 13/04/2019 11:22

Sounds nice

sackrifice · 13/04/2019 11:24

I'd have that without the meat. sounds fab. If I could eat bread and yorkie pudding that is.

Be careful what you wish for.

Ohyesiam · 13/04/2019 11:26

I’m vegetarian and I’d try thatGrin

Eminybob · 13/04/2019 11:28

Sounds amazing I’d give it a go.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 13/04/2019 11:29

This thread reminds me about a late night tv 'cookery' programme in the 90s 'Get stuffed' - some god awful food combinations - great if you have the serious munchies I guess Grin.

TwinsTrollsAndHunz · 13/04/2019 11:33

I’d give it a go

Ninkaninus · 13/04/2019 11:34

Without the cheese and with the addition of a little bit of gravy that would have been an epic toastie.

EdWinchester · 13/04/2019 11:36

Sounds vomitous.

WeeDangerousSpike · 13/04/2019 11:36

I really want to eat that now...

ShannonRockallMalin · 13/04/2019 11:41

Sounds horrendous. I'm glad to hear it was leftovers though, I was having visions of him cooking a whole roast dinner from scratch then randomly stuffing it into a toastie Grin

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/04/2019 11:42

We know a little seaside place that does a roast - pork with apple sauce, stuffing and gravy - stuffed into a big bap. Delish.
Not sure I'd want the bap toasted, though. Soaks up the gravy better without.,

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/04/2019 11:47

Yorkie, cheese (cheap stringy stuff) and gravy sounds divine.

MitziK · 13/04/2019 11:47

This sounds like drunken cookery.

Mind you, I've just been brought a huge mug of tea and two cheesy topped bacon rolls in bed, so I'm hardly the arbiter of culinary superiority.

(smoked, thick cut, crispy, with real butter and ketchup, in case anybody feels the need to query my choices) Grin

BusterGonad · 13/04/2019 11:51

I like the sound of the toastie and wish I had s toastie maker!

Sooperkat · 13/04/2019 11:52

We have leftover Christmas dinner toasties for tea on Christmas Day. Family comes over, brings various stuffings and meat and a George Foreman/sandwich toaster. We line them up, add whatever you like, bread sauce, gravy, the works. They’re amazing Grin

TheQueef · 13/04/2019 11:55

I'd scoff that, cheese as well.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 13/04/2019 11:58

Where's the gravy and apple sauce?

damnthatoneistakenagain · 13/04/2019 11:59

Sounds vile.

Are you sure this wasn't just a dream @BarcelonaFreddie ???
