To think the BBC are working overtime to promote Nigel Farage

Just that really. He must have friends high up in the BBC.

Before the referendum he was practically on every BBC programme. He was probably even asked to appear on Strictly and read the bedtime story on CBeebies.

There are actual elected politicians who get zero time on any BBC programme but as soon as Farage farts he’s swarmed by the BBC.

There he is today, top of every news hour, with his new party next to self styled ‘woman of the people’, Rees-Moggs sister, Annunziata.

Are you kidding me! If course he doesn’t have friends in the BBC. This is such a fucking boring arguement. EVERYONE always thinks the person they dislike most gets preferential treatment. You are looking at this with a tainted point of view. So fucking boring to read this shit. I’m not even pro BBC. But fuck me this is boring, grow up and start seeing the world without your bias.

The Green Party are a well-established alternative but small party. Yet they didn't get anywhere near the amount of air time or general media coverage that UKIP and Farage got in the run up to the last couple of elections (or since). Considering the Green Party were founded because of environmental concerns and that most experts think we are lurching towards a global disaster with climate change, surely there has been more legitimacy in giving Caroline Luca’s airtime than Farage? I'm not a Green Party supporter, I'm simply evidencing my point.

There is no justification for the image of Farage and the sound of his voice to be in the "news" as much as it is. None. No one really knew who he was until the mainstream media started to provide him with coverage. I cannot think how or why it remotely acceptable to give a far-right activist a big platform, especially not considering recent events in New Zealand!

I completely agree with you, they seem to have an odd obsession with him.

I don't really recall Nigel being on QT since the referendum. The BBC are definitely anti Farage, not pro Farage, in the same way they are anti brexit.

@hobspawn. The green party are totally boring. I can't imagine anyone voting for them, especially when they were led by Natalie Bennett. A party for snowflake hand wringers.

He gets much too much coverage, yes. And I've heard him basically threaten civil unrest on the radio, with no-one daring to stop him or disagree with him. Part of it is the BBC obsession with personalities. They are far keener to talk about who the next leader of a party might be, etc etc, than about the actual effect that Brexit will / would have on our lives. They have dumbed down. And Farage is a colorful character. But I suspect it's about more than that - definite bias in favour of a hard Brexit. It's extremely worrying.

I also think that they don't do their homework. So much obvious rubbish gets spouted, even on Radio 4, about Brexit, with the interviewer not correcting it or challenging it.
The BBC is no longer doing its job properly. And that benefits the pro-hard Brexit liars.
