Dps driving is terrible

He’s a lovely man, but I find it so hard to be in the car with him.

Mine isn’t very practical. I do generally offer to drive but it often ends up being him.

The problem is he is so erratic. He slows right down, well below the speed limit, and then suddenly speeds right up.

In traffic jams he just sits there so a vast space appears between him and the car in front. If i suggest he goes forwards he says ‘but what’s the point?’ I’ve pointed out it creates a massive backlog of traffic, people unable to get out of junctions or turn into side streets.

He drives 60 in the fast lane Blush

He doesn’t listen to directions properly. So I’ll say ‘okay, turn left at the roundabout.’ He then drives straight on and I’ll say ‘dp!’ He SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES sending me FLYING forwards! Who does that!?

It’s more a rant than anything ...

Everyone knows that the OP means, though to be fair 60 might be fine depending on conditions but I'm assuming you mean he sits in that lane at a speed generally slower than the rest and doesn't move back in after over taking

To be honest I'd just tell him he is a shit driver if that's how you feel. I can't stand my OH driving either, I always drive

badlydrawnperson · 11/04/2019 21:06

Fuck sake there's always one

Just fuck off then.

badlydrawnperson · 11/04/2019 21:10

What bit are you finding difficult to understand?
Why you are being such a fucking superior twat?

Jinglejanglefish · 11/04/2019 21:14

Because posters being obtuse when it's perfectly clear what OP means is fucking tiresome

Newadventure · 11/04/2019 21:15

@ badly Why you are being such a fucking superior twat?

Road rage, huh?
I've got some bach's rescue remedy that'll clear that right up 👌
I also find listening to 'smooth' helps too, just an fyi..

In your not even slightly humble opinion.

Now fuck off.

sockatoe · 11/04/2019 21:18

Does he know he's a bad driver?

Jinglejanglefish · 11/04/2019 21:23

No, you fuck off. Who made you Queen of the thread?

Timewarpdancer · 11/04/2019 21:29

the fact that everyone is jumping down badlys throat when they don’t know the correct lane terminology says a lot more about them.
Perhaps some of you could be doing with a refresher on the Highway Code and some manners

BlueCornishPixie · 11/04/2019 22:46

time warp

No one needs a refresher because they don't know the correct name. It makes no different to your ability to drive.

I always thought it was inside because it was inside the road but maybe I am wrong.
It makes no difference to my ability to use it or not. Badly was being a dick, it's pedantic, passive aggressivd and irrelevant to Ops point.

This whole thing has proved my point. We all know what OP means by fast lane, it's literally just a name. It doesn't mean we think you have to sit in it and not using it for overtaking, it doesn't mean we don't know how to use it. Badly was making a point that driving didn't know how to drive, and didn't know how to use the lane but there's nothing to show that apart from use of a common name for the lane.

It sounds like he'd benefit from some additional training.

Where in the country are you, maybe people can offer recommendations? www.reglocal.com seems to have a good reputation, and puts out lots of stuff on YouTube as well, so you can see what he's like.
