I'm not sure what Joe Soap can glean from watching this?

It's like a picture of nothingness that we're supposed to be in awe of. You can't picture it, because it's so fucking dense, that light can't emit etc.
I have no idea what seeing a picture of a glowing anus is going to add to my life.

Generally I am bored rigid by space, black holes included, but then I see something like this (taken from Hubble I think).

I sometimes have a glowing anus after a curry.

Some guy telling me 'mass can curve space and time'. What does that even mean?

I feel like singing Cher - IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME!!

Makes you realise how fucking enormous and mad the universe is. We are nothing.

Apoiads · 10/04/2019 20:44

Einstein was a bit mad.

@StarbucksSmarterSister That looks like where Superman comes from.

Utterly baffled that anybody could be bored by space.

We know virtually nothing about it. It’s INFINITE yet EXPANDING. I have no idea how that’s possible, but how can it not blow your mind???

TowelNumber42 · 10/04/2019 20:51

I'll just leave this black hole smut here for your amusement.

Personally I love this stuff.

Also, Schrodinger's Cat.

Sorry can all those superior intellects keep it down a bit, Corrie's on.

Flaxmeadow · 10/04/2019 21:06

Brexit is in there somewhere, surely?

SickOfThePig · 10/04/2019 21:12

Brexit collapsing on itself is probably what caused the hole in the first place.

Thisisthelaststraw · 10/04/2019 21:22

Is it going to kill us? Suck us in?

If yes, I don’t want to know. If no, then yeah, it’s cool and I’d like to know more.

I can’t say “I love space” but I’m intrigued and I love nothing more than a clear night without light pollution to look at the sky, pick out planets and watch for satellites (which I was once convinced where ufos).

Lifecraft · 10/04/2019 21:50

If the universe is expanding, what's it expanding into?

Lifecraft · 10/04/2019 21:52

I'm so proud of my son, who has just started doing astronomy at college. I had a call from the headmaster to tell me that he's just taking up space.

Thisisthelaststraw · 10/04/2019 21:54

Don’t mind him @linecraft. What planet is he on?!

Thisisthelaststraw · 10/04/2019 21:55
