the same winning jackpot euro million numbers will come up again?

For example, if you take the five winning numbers and the two lucky star numbers from last weeks draw and then play these same numbers every week for a year, do you think it is possible this exact same combination will appear again?

From a mathematical perspective it may be not likely but just wandering what everyone thinks.

Oh another note has anyone ever won the euro millions or what strategies do you have when you play?

I know its very unlikely to win but at the same time if you do not buy a ticket then you will definitely not win!

This is a friendly, harmless thread so lets me kind to each other.

The same numbers that have come up before are no more or less likely to come up again.

A bit like throwing a dice it's 1 in 6 chance a 1 will come up, and if you throw it again it's still a 1 in 6 chance a 1 will come up.

Every possible set of numbers has exactly the same odds so yes, it’s as likely that the numbers in the next draw will be the same numbers that came out in the last draw as any others.

I don't do the lottery anymore since they increased the odds from 1 in 14 million to something stupid like 1 in 40 million.

I do the postcode lottery instead, it means each week I have a chance of winning something, so it keeps my hopes up.😁

As others have said, previous results have no bearing on future results. The lottery is completely random.

As for strategies, the only strategies worth thinking about, are those which maximise your winnings in case you do win, by picking numbers less likely to have been picked by others.

For example, many people play with 'birthday' numbers 1-31, so prizes are lower if the numbers are lower, as they are shared by more people. So pick higher numbers.

Also, when the lottery started, I remember reading that 10 000 people were playing the numbers 1 to 6, because they thought that they were the only ones who had thought to do that. If these numbers did come up (also equally likely as every other combination) and the jackpot was 10 million, each person would win £1000. A nice little bonus, but hardly life changing for most people.

Another good tactic if you want to target different draws now that they have limited the number of roll overs is to go for the ones where the jackpot will be shared amongst the 5 or 5 and a bonus, if no-one gets 6 numbers. It is much more likely that you will get 5 or 5 and a bonus, but the prize fund is much higher than it normally will be, so you have a better chance of winning a decent sum.

Alternatively, probably the best chance of making money from gambling would be to learn how to play Blackjack, exploit the introductory offers from online casinos and do that. I've turned £20 of my own money into a few hundred quid before, and if I really put my mind to it, I could probably grow it further.
