She is well supported at school thank goodness

But school are worried about year 2 when the work starts to get harder

They have 4 adults at the moment in dd class

The EP will assess her strengths and needs and perform some tests in the form of games with your DD. The EP is essentially assessing her intellectual ability which can inform the teachers on suitable adaptations. Why are you paying for this?

Because we don’t want to wait months for her to be seen when she can be seen with in two weeks?

The school have a very long list and I believe they only get so many visits per year

Please make sure that the Ed Psychs findings and suggestions will be accepted by the LEA and school, if you are going down the private route.

Have the school talked about any other referrals? Are there any specific areas they are concerned about or is it a general delay? How is her development in general...we're any issues flagged up previously either at school or preschool?

My child is adopted and really struggling at school are brilliant but they worry about her attainment going forward

They are not sure if her lack of attainment is emotional or she has a stand alone sn or both so we have someone coming who specialise in looked after children your run of the mill EP can sometimes struggle to detect attachment issues and they often look the same as SN issues we are so worried

She loves school and has done really well with what she has the school are
Stunned she has managed to master her name and to read two letter words

If you are an adoptive parent you should have access to the adoption support fund. I would have thought this could pay for the private assessment if you sell it as a priority need?

Tbh we just don’t want to wait she’s had to wait for so much poor thing and I would rather use that money if the school think she needs counselling after the assessment I have saved up her child benefit so the money is not a issue here really just feel a bit sad our love couldn’t bring her along more 😕
