To wonder if making friends just isn’t possible once you are at a certain stage?

It isn’t a suggestion of things to do, by the way, but I’m fast approaching 40. I do do things, but it seems to be a case of doing them and going home - people go to do the thing, rather than make friends!

I am trying to be light hearted but my life feels very empty and unsociable.

I certainly agree that I feel people would think I was strange if I tried to push anything beyond small talk.

I don't feel lonely but I don't really have anyone locally I could call just for a chat which I think is a shame.

Someone said to me recently they feel the same and they were joining Slimming World just for the social aspect but I think that's a bit of a sad state of affairs really.
