Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this..

I am on npower's Super Fix June 2021 v2 DD tarriff.

So a fixed tarriff.. but they have put my prices up.

It's not the first time I've had an issue with them.. what can I do if they refuse to but them as they were? I don't want to be paying £100 in exit fees?

Check out bulb. They pay your exit fees. I changed to them 18 month ago. Still appear very competitive. If you use this link and you change over we both get £50 credit on our accounts

Are you sure they've increased the prices of your particular tariff? The blurb about it says:

Prices are fixed until 30/06/21, subject to governmental or regulatory requirements. Your prices may increase if you change your meter type or the way you pay, or you no longer meet the eligibility criteria for this tariff. If there's a change in the rate of VAT chargeable for the energy we supply, this could also increase the charges you pay.

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 21:27

@dementedpixie I've looked on my account and its got different prices compared to my previous bill but still the same tarriff name, I've not changed the way I pay or anything - I reset up my direct debit as I changed bank accounts and the lady on the phone assured all would stay the same!

Are you sure its the tariff that has gone up and you haven't just consumed more energy? Your monthly amount may of gone up but that has nothing to do with the tariff just consumption.

dementedpixie · 07/04/2019 21:30

So the price per kWh has changed?

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 21:39

@dementedpixie yes the unit price has changed.

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 21:40

@alwaysreadthelabel I'm not daft! I pay quarterly direct debit and the unti has gone up.

Definitely contact them then. A fixed price means you pay the same per kWh for the duration of the fixed term. Cheeky buggers

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 21:45

@dementedpixie I'm really annoyed about it - I've checked my npower app too and it says my tarriff started again on 7th April! No it hasn't 😡🤨

@Frightenedbunny I will consider it if they don't do anything tomorrow!

If they've changed the prices, you can leave within 30 days of being told without paying exit fees . It's the same as with Internet contracts etc.

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 21:53

@coral13 I wasn't told - I found out on my account online!

OP posts:
coral13 · 07/04/2019 21:56

They should have told you. They normally have to let you know by letter or email. Either way you can leave without exit fees. You can say they didn't give you notice, and if they didn't then they won't be able to prove they did.

Musicalstatues · 07/04/2019 21:58

Isn’t this something to do with the line ‘prices are fixed..... subject to governmental or regulatory requirements’
We had a letter from our supplier (eon) to say our fixed price tariff would be increasing as the government had increased the cap on energy prices or something along those lines.

MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 22:00

@Musicalstatues you received notification... when I reset my dd details, they told my prices were the same and even reeled them off!

OP posts:
MumOfOne92 · 07/04/2019 22:01

@Musicalstatues they actually sent me an email saying they aren't going up!

@Gemmat7014 thanks, but sticking with npower. I'm an idiot - they haven't increased my prices, I just saw them including VAT and hadn't realised!

I had the same problem and think the best solution is to change your provider company. I had been finding the ideal one for a long time. To select it me helped usave.co.uk. It is really helpful website. Here you will find a lot of information about how to choose good payment plan and to compare all current offers from top Uk providers. Also if you need it, exactly on their website you can but new telephone or headphones on a loan. Link I have left above
