Feeling rubbish on a Sunday morning

Was up last night until nearly 2am finishing a project for uni, DP asleep on the bed from 10pm (I believe it was a carb coma from the fuck tonne of pasta he'd eaten 30 mins before!) and finally got to sleep around 2.

A rude awakening this morning at 9am to DP play fighting with the dog right outside our bedroom door.. with it open.Angry

We need to hoover the place, it looks like a laundrette with all the washing I did yesterday, I need to shower & feel grotty as I still have the remains of flu from the past 2 weeks, we're out of food & I've decided I hate Sundays.

I'm so stressed with uni atm that I feel I'm never relaxed, not looking forward to getting the train tomorrow morning at 7.30am & I'm working 4 nights next week from 5.30 until 10pm after a full day of uni.

DP (he really is lovely despite his loud dog playing this morning) has just sent me back to bed with a coffee so he can hoover.

How can I lift my mood today? The weather is crap but we're going on a dog walk at 1.

Incorporate a pub lunch into your dog walk, buy some nice snacks to eat while watching a film later. Get all your jobs done before you go out on the walk. Get food in for the week so you don’t need to stress about it. Get fresh bedding on, have a bath or shower before bed and then just plough through next week. It sounds hard work but it’s only a few days.

It’s normal to have days like this. Don’t fret about it.

@1wokeuplikethis
Unfortunately it's a no for the pub lunch, expensive & I try not to eat unhealthy foods & I'd be tempted thereGrin

Good point on getting the jobs done, that's at least eliminates stress when coming back!

Ah I love fresh sheets, we changed ours 2 nights ago though.

Definitely going to have a shower in a bit as that'll wipe off some of the 'dirt' feeling, do you ever get that? I showered last night but woke up today feeling disgusting.Sad

@Bowchicawowow I knowSad I'm usually so happy & peppy most days (even when stressed with deadlines!) but today has me feeling unusually crap, my period is due any day now though so that might be why!

Our of curiosity, are you sure doing uni work until 2am and sleeping until 9am is the right approach for you? Would you feel better if you did uni work until, say, 10pm, then had half an hour of TV/reading, went to sleep at 11pm, then woke up at 7am and nailed a few hours work in the morning when you are fresh. I used to do that when I was studying and DH wasn't (actually I'd get up at 6am to study, but I'm a morning person) and then we'd have a nice breakfast/brunch together. I was much more efficient in the morning because I was fresh and because I was looking forward to getting done so I could go and so fun things.

Won't help for today, but maybe one to try next weekend and see if it suits you?

unicornstore · 07/04/2019 13:56

@SummerInSun totally agree, I don't usually stay up that late but I'm recovering from having flu for 2 weeks so I had a lot to catch up on. I'd been working on and off at it from 10 that morning too!

Thanks :)

If I got seven hours uninterrupted sleep I would actually throw a party.

unicornstore · 07/04/2019 16:52

@BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney It's not enough for me when I've been working & studying all week.
