WIBU to put hair chalk in my DD's hair?

DD is 4, and called Lucy. She wants blue and pink streaks at the front of her hair, like Lucy in the Lego Movie. She isn't at school yet. Is there any good reason why I shouldn't do this? Are they toxic or damaging to hair? I'm not too bothered about the pillowcase.

You can get kids hair chalk! Try that - it's non toxic I think.

There's ones that are designed specifically for children, so definitely aren't toxic. They wash out too.

Sounds great fun. Search for non toxic chalks suitable for children.

Although any sold in reputable shops should be non toxic anyway!

Kid is 4 and I've done his hair with chalk once I think.

Also used green and white hairspray for Halloween (different years).

Hmm, not really. They're smellier and less manoeuvrable, but good if you want to do the whole head quickly. Plus, you can make it spikey which isn't useful for Lucy admittedly.

Your DD has good taste, I like Lucy as well.

I just use normal hair chalk and colour sprays on DDs hair.

I have done hair chalk in my 4 year old, also called Lucy's hair. She wanted pink, it did seem to last for ages though, but she liked it. I also have hair extensions for her birthday as she wants rapunzel hair For her party.

The spray gets everywhere! So does the chalk but it’s chalk, not sticky handprinty goo!

Ive used hair chalk on dds hair. The purple shampoo (for blonde hair) gets it out in a couple of washes.
