To feel offended for being scolded by Doordash driver?

WrexhamBuxom · 06/04/2019 00:36

I was actually scolded by my Doordash driver.

I ordered pizza. Wanted cheese pizza, but on the menu there is no "cheese pizza" option. There is just the "1 Topping Pizza" option, which I selected, but I didn't choose any of the toppings.

45 minutes later, I get a message saying, "I need to know what you want on your pizza" so I respond that I just wanted a cheese pizza. The message seemed like it could have been worded a bit more kindly, but I ignored it.

So, then, the driver shows up at the door, and he scolds me and says for future reference, I need to make it clear that it's a cheese pizza, so it doesn't waste his time and saves him a lot of trouble.

I didn't want to get into an argument with him, although I wanted to respond that it's not my fault the app didn't give me that option. I've been stewing about it ever since and it definitely killed my appetite.

Others people's feelings toward you matter too much to you, causing you to stew rather than be able to leave his feelings with him and go on about your evening. Shake it off, enjoy your pizza!

You selected a topping but didnt specify what the topping was?

Why didnt you just specify that the one topping you were chosing was cheese

Jeezy creezy

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 06/04/2019 07:07

What a non event.

Notverygrownup · 06/04/2019 07:21

It was not "a lot of trouble". It was a quick phonecall from him. He was rude and it was unnecessary. He may have a reason behind it: crap job, not paying very much, under pressure to get back to the shop, whatever. Or maybe he was having a jobsworthy moment and just being ridiculous. Either way, try to put it behind you, and remember that most people aren't that grumpy.

(I still see the till person at Sainsburys who once told me off roundly infront of a queue of people when I was feeling absolutely awful, a couple of years ago. It was unnecessary (and he was wrong) but it does sting and brings out the child in us. It wasn't myyyyy fault. )

I know how you feel, but you will get over it! Smile

Don't use that place ever again. Rude people and I bet they are quite expensive.
Buy from the supermarket and warm up at your convenience. This way you get what you want, when you want it, and pay less.

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 06/04/2019 10:25

As if a supermarket pizza is the answer when you want a takeaway pizza 😂

Because there was no option for just cheese, good god read the OP!

He was rude OP. I would email them and tell them once again their app is shit because there is no option for just a cheese pizza.

Eagerly awaiting someone comparing it with cheese on toast.

MargotLovedTom1 · 06/04/2019 10:41

Is a cheese pizza a margherita pizza? Or just cheese and no tomato base? Confused

BasilTheGreat · 06/04/2019 10:58

Seriously? 😐 Just move on and never order from them again. How could you let such a small thing have you in such a state? What would happened if something really awful happened to you?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 07/04/2019 20:44

@dragon - rubbish

One topping - cheese

Simples

Eliza9919 · 07/04/2019 21:22

If they didn't have what you wanted on the app, why didn't you just ring them to order instead?

Dana28 · 07/04/2019 21:27

l I don't understand. The delivery driver doesn't make your pizza

Drogosnextwife · 07/04/2019 23:24

What if it's a case of a drop down menu to pick your topping and no place to actually type in what you want? I think in this case that's the most likely scenario, no? Or the OP would have probably put in cheese.

Missing the point, but is Doordash like Deliveroo, or do they actually make and sell the food as well as deliver it? I've never heard of them at all. Mind you, I've never actually seen a branch of a lot of these big chains that people talk about as if they should be familiar to everybody.

If it is a place that makes and delivers pizza, isn't that just any national or local pizza place? I love the internet as much as anybody, but I'd just instantly be inclined to phone in my order.

I do agree, though, that places that want you to order online (when we have tried it in the past and found it to just be a big faff ) often have trouble if you don't want something basic, such as a tomato sauce base (somebody in our house really hates tomato sauce), and have no mechanism for adding a note. They can handle A, B or C, but not 'none of these, thanks'. A bit like when people ask if you'd like tea or coffee and look at you like you have five heads if you say 'no, thanks'.

TwistinMyMelon · 08/04/2019 00:37

Thanks, I really bloody want a pizza now.

ChuckyHereToPlay · 08/04/2019 02:13

I once had an ubereats delivery man tell me that he didn't have time to bring me my order. I had already waited nearly an hour and he was 3 mins away.
