My dsis was raving on at me last summer about this book and now my dd is going on about it. I am dubious about their shared tastes in 'literature' namely because of a shared passion for Harry Potter.

Is this book worth reading? I tend to like investigative thrillers which are easily read - nothing too descriptive. I have very simple tastes and don't like 'wordy' stuff.

Would I like this book?

Is this the insane author? hes far more interesting than the novel

PaintBySticker · 05/04/2019 20:29

Not a fan. But can’t say why without spoiling it.

BeardedMum · 05/04/2019 20:35

@castlecrasher, I agree it’s an aeroplane book. That is such a great description. Never heard that one before!

Merril · 05/04/2019 20:44

it’s a thriller. As I understand it’s a long the same lines as Girl On The Train, Disclamier & The Couple Next Door.

OT, but it's miles better than Disclaimer. That was a terrible book.

YouLikeTheBadOnesToo · 05/04/2019 20:55

Merril I was a bit disappointed by Disclaimer as well, I had really high hopes for it, but I didn’t particularly enjoy it. I’m planning to start The Woman In The Window tonight, i’m hoping it won’t be another let down!

QueenOfTheTofuTree · 05/04/2019 20:59

I enjoyed it. It's not the best book I have ever read and I wouldn't really call the twist shocking or something you wouldn't see coming. But It's worth a read imo.

IncrediblySadToo · 05/04/2019 21:00

No. But I might now!

QueenOfTheTofuTree · 05/04/2019 21:00

It's better than the girl on the train but that's not saying much because I hated that book and thought it was an overrated piece of twaddle. I realise I am probably in the minority with that opinion though .

Whatad · 06/04/2019 01:39

Oh I'm going to have to read it to see what is getting my dd so enthusiastic (my dsis is always excited about something, so nothing to decipher from her reaction).
