To have just eaten leftover curry from last nights tea, for breakfast this morning?

Last night I made curried egg noodles and there was a good sized portion left, so I planned to eat it today, probably for lunch. But I got home from the school run and was hungry and could smell my curry so I decided to eat it for breakfast instead. And it was bloody good in case you're wondering! I've just been chatting to DH (he's at work) and I mentioned that I'd already eaten the curry and he was aghast! It's not 'breakfast food' apparently (who even made the rule on what is or isn't acceptable food for breakfast anyway?) and he reckons I should have had some cereal or toast and saved my curry for lunch.

Who is right here? It was mine, he would never have eaten it if it was the last thing left on earth to eat (it had vegetables in it and it was very spicy, he eats neither vegetables nor spice Hmm ) so I don't feel like he should even have a say in it.

I might have ice cream for lunch...

@BloodyDisgrace I'm going teetotal as I need to shift quite a few pounds.

@Hoppinggreen Sounds amazing, but nothing like that for me because ^ :(

I've reheated a half eaten chicken tikka kebab (complete with salad and mayo) for breakfast many times.

I once ate leftover donner meat for breakfast... I'm not even sure if it had been put in the fridge. But I was a student and quite possibly still a bit drunky.

Hoppinggreen · 05/04/2019 14:36

Eliza it was really healthy I’m sure.
No meat, no dairy and not swimming in oil like many curries are. We ate loads but it didn’t sit heavily

OH deliberately saves something to have in a breakfast omelette, this morning it was a bit of provencal, it was actually quite nice. He was furious yesterday that half of a small salad potato had 'gone missing', he was looking forward to it, I didn't even blush.

@hoppinggreen where did you go for it? If I remember rightly I think I live near you and that sounds amazing!

GCAcademic · 05/04/2019 14:59

We want to go again soon but as the bloke who invited us insisted on paying for us all I don’t feel we can invite ourselves again too soon ( we tried to pay but he got most offended)

Invite them to the restaurant next time. In Indian culture, if you invite someone you pay.

Perfectly normal breakfast in Indonesia!

I am sort of with your husband in that I couldn't finish my breakfast (because it was a disgusting porridge pot I didnt want or like but I still made it and forced down half because I knew I should have breakfast) so was actually ravenous at 11 and clock watched til 5 to 12 when I could put my sag aloo in the microwave to be ready at 12 which is a reasonable lunch time! I'm home alone with my 7 month old so there isn't even anyone to judge me... I wish I had you mentality to be honest and just had the saag for breakfast in the first place!

My child and I both fancied jacket potato’s with cheese the other morning so we had it

theonetowalkinthesun · 05/04/2019 16:57

I had sweet potato, curried chicken and sweetcorn for breakfast this morning!

It wasn't even leftovers- I specifically fancied it!

Hoppinggreen · 05/04/2019 17:16

Torvi it was just outside Manchester. Chennai Dosa in Northenden
It opens at 11 and you need to be there not much after that because it gets busy.
Yes GC I know and we’ve insisted that the next time it’s on us. I felt bad because there was 1 of him and 6 of us!

I had leftover pasta for breakfast today. It was lush. I only regret it because I am trying to lose weight.......

Curry for breakfast, yum. I draw the line at cold pizza though. I know lots of you love it but no 👎
