Send her in tomorrow with the sticker correct in red biro and another sticker too:

"0 out of 1. See me."

Milliways · 12/07/2007 17:36

I was told off by a teacher for spelling my own name wrong at age 5!

My Mum had to put them straight - it's not THAT hard (2 versions, both popular).

WanderingTrolley · 12/07/2007 17:39

I have never heard of other spellings of Lauren, or Chloe.

I think it's all the "imaginative" name-spellers cocking it up for everyone else, personally.

Actually, misdee, bung a sticker on the teacher (a year! ffs...)

"Eejit"

2spells · 12/07/2007 17:47

at dd's school the insist on shortening her 3 letter name ds and I always go eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee oh and they put dots and she is not dotty

TheMuppetMuggle · 12/07/2007 17:50

my DD name gets spelt wrong all the time.
Her name is Darcie, but gets spelt either
Darcy or Darcey.
And time after time of telling ppl they still do it grrrr

TequilaMockinBird · 12/07/2007 17:54

My dd is Abbie but always gets either Abby or Abbey.

Last year I asked the school to re-write her yearly report as her name was spelt incorrectly ALL the way through

We get a lot of Jonathons and Johnathans for our Jonathan, although not usually from school, more from friends.

Lizzer · 12/07/2007 18:00

Wandering trolley - "imaginative" name-spellers - you mean chavs?

Seriously though, people expect teachers to be able to spell, but some just can't, however a childs name they see every day in the register, er, hello???

Jamantha · 12/07/2007 18:01

Miiliways - (and sorry to divert topic slightly) - when very young at school I said that I lived at number 5 and the house next door was number 4. Teacher said no next door would be number 3, but I said there was no number 3, or 2 or 1, just 4 adn 5. I had plenty of trouble from teacher who did not believe me, until my Mum came in and told her it was true.

fannyannie · 12/07/2007 18:02

are you sure it was the teacher that wrote it???

When DS1 started school all of his (ready labeled) books had a completely wrong spelling of our surname on it.

It turns out that the office had made a typing error (which I still haven't let forget - don't worry she's a friend that I knew before DS1 started there ) - on the list which was given to the Teacher, who gave it to the Teaching Assistant who then copied what she had in front of her onto all of the folders.......

oooohhhh I can feel my ire rising on behalf of teachers

My poor husband - still at work heading for a 14 hour day this evening with a 15 hour day yesterday is currently responsible for 400 kids (year 7 leader - so currently supervising the 200 coming up from primary and the 200 currently in year 7) in a very multi-every diversity comprehensive.

His children are called everything from Houilio to Amee-Lee-Jane

Is he really supposed to remember all those

Call them all BOB (blackadder)

MadEyeMisdee · 12/07/2007 18:20

laurie, its a small nursery.

not 400 children or anywhere near.

and its Lauren, spelt normally, not fancy spellings here.

I have never even heard of Louran. but have had fun calling her it this afternoon.

i call her lollipops.

I would be apoplectic !!! I hate it when people can't be bothered to spell ort pronounce names properly - it's rude and careless.

Lauriefairycake · 12/07/2007 18:22

sounds like they just missed the 'tail' on the 'a'

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/07/2007 18:24

love Houilio !!!

emj23 · 12/07/2007 19:05

I had a school report which referred to my DS as Ethan all the way through it. His name isn't even vaguely like Ethan. And they reckon they write reports for each child individually. It seemed more like they had written one and then gone through it and changed the name. Badly.

NAB3 · 12/07/2007 19:08

I thought that at first, Lauriefairycake, but the last a is still wrong.

I agree

Lauriefairycake · 12/07/2007 19:21

Doh ! oh yeah.

clearly I need more wine....

ElenyaTuesday · 12/07/2007 19:37

Milliways - same here. My mum had to tell my Primary school teacher how to spell my name as the teacher told me I had got it wrong. Even worse, there were only 7 children in the class so remembering all of them was hardly rocket science.

hana · 12/07/2007 19:39

it might not have been the teacher
could have been a student, or someone on work experience

Chirpygirl · 12/07/2007 19:53

Like Milliways I used to get into trouble at school for spelling my name 'like a boy'

In my maternity notes it is spelt wrong the whole way through again, last time I sat in teh ward and corrected it.

I can understand that teachers have a lot of kids names to remember but to a child it is only 1 name and it's really annoying to constantly have it spelt wrong, so no YANBU!
