To ask how I can fix this without £5k?

I have NC because I'm embarrassed to be posting about this. I'm also posting in Aibu for traffic.

It's a boob issue. It's making me feel depressed and shitty about myself.

There is a 2 cup size difference. And I hate hate hate it.

I've look up surgery and it costs around 5k, which I don't have. I have credit so can't get finance or a loan. And I don't know anyone willing to help out for something so expensive.

Do I just need to shut up and put up? To hate my body forever?

I'm surprised at some of these answers. Particularly surprised that anyone would be referred for surgery for having AA boobs. Mine are AA and surgery has never crossed my mind any more than it would cross my mind to have surgery to turn my blue eyes brown.

OP, you do obviously have an imbalance, and you do obviously notice it. However, it's probably worth trying to internalise that nobody else will ever notice it. Everyone is so hung up about their own bodies that they really are not walking around looking at other people's bodies, looking for imperfections and imbalances.

If you do have bad credit, I'd say that expensive surgery is the very last thing you should be thinking about. You really need to focus on working hard and saving, which will in themselves increase your self esteem (because it seems to me that this is a self-esteem problem, and you just happen to be focussing all your negative attention on your boobs). It may well be worth going to see your GP, even if just to reassure yourself that it's 'just' an imbalance. But I would think really, really carefully before having unnecessary surgery, even if someone were to hand you the money on a plate.

OP I'm sure the imbalance is not as noticeable as you feel. It won't solve the problem but if you get some mastectomy bras (M&S) and wear them with/ without the inserts then you won't be conscious of them all the time.
By the way, for those saying AA cup is flat it really isn't - it often just means that you have a wider rib cage/back and therefore the measurement under your boobs is bigger. Friends generally think I'm a B/C but I'm am AA/A.

But she doesn’t have AA boobs. She has one AA boob which is the problem.

Speak to your GP for advice. 2 cup size differences is real, not in your head. It’s a perfectly legitimate question.

Etino · 31/03/2019 09:12

Do speak to your GP Flowers

Monty27 · 31/03/2019 10:33

OP there's bra shops that cater. Whereas in the meantime you should start saving money.

MundanePersonality · 31/03/2019 10:59

Thank you all. Will take a look at inserts. Not sure I'd feel confident enough to show a GP.

It's not the size that bothers me. I'm not wanting bigger boobs. I want them to be able to fit in the same bra. And not look so... Little and large.

It may be worth noting that I have breast tissue in my underarm on the small side. Maybe that explains why it's small, as I'm guessing it should have been part of my breast?

It was checked years ago to ensure it wasn't a tumour etc and they nearly removed it but then decided not to because it wasn't causing me any pain. So I can't see the NHS paying for simular sized boobs when others are fighting cancer etc.

It does effect me and make me feel shit about myself. I'm not asking for free Katie Price boobs. I was just asking if there were other options, maybe others who have had the same issue.

Honestly the protheses for mastectomies are really good. The bras have 'pockets' to hold them in place too. I've even sewn pockets into some of my existing bras by cutting out one side of a crop top and using it as a lining. The partial prosthesis inserts might not even need pockets to hold them in place, though. I would recommend ringing the suppliers number because they are able to advise. The website tells you how to measure up too. But if you can go into a branch they can fit you. 🙂

Etino · 31/03/2019 11:10

Dontalk to you’re GP again. Particularly with the new information about the breast tissue.

birdflyinghigh · 31/03/2019 11:11

So I can't see the NHS paying for simular sized boobs when others are fighting cancer etc.

They might be able to advise, though. I got a free prosthesis and measured up from the breast clinic. Not everyone wants reconstruction. Tbh if people get operations to change their gender appearance due to psychological impact of how they perceive theme selves, you might be a candidate. Personally, I didn't want more operations than necessary but you (and the doctors) just need to weigh up risks and benefits.
