Aibu to think this fox was shouting for my cat?

Just got woken up by a fox screeching in our garden for a good 5 minutes. Was sitting right in front of the conservatory looking at the house, I have never heard one so loud. It went away when my husband went down and put a light on (to see if it was hurt).

It's the first time we have seen a fox around here since moving in last summer but the other day our neighbour knocked on our door and asked if the previous owner of our house had told us about 'the Fox' and did we know our cat had been chasing it across the back gardens?

Aibu to think this fox was yelling for cat to come out and play? I might be delirious.

Don’t know about cats but my dog used to have a fox friend who used to meet us on walks. They’d trot along, nose to tail, for about 20 minutes.

There is a fox and a cat in my street who are friends. I see them hanging out together if I’m up early enough.

My neighbour has a cate that has a foxy friend. They sit together on the back patio like Darby and Joan.

There's a fox in my road that loves to tease the crows and make them chase him very early in the morning.

Is this some sort of alternate universe?

Our cat 'played with a fox' and lost part of his tail. That a messy experience and expensive.

We live in rural countryside and I’ve only ever seen one Fox, ever! Do they tend to be more common in cities then? 🦊

Well, we don't have arseholes in red chasing after them under the pretense of following a trail, our firearms are generally used to despatch members of the opposing gangs, we have a fuckton of chicken shops and a ready supply of rats and mice.

Sarcasm aside, yes, they are common in towns and generally no real problem.
