HE has received £35,000 in compensation.
I got £3,000 after a CEO put his hand up my skirt.
If you’ve been denied flexible working look into the possibility of recourse. For our daughters sake if not ours. This bloody outrageous

The claim was around failure to make reasonable adjustments, and unfavourable treatment due to disability.

You can have a valid claim where a flexible working request is unreasonably denied, but this case was about much more than that.

Note also that the employer was the DWP. Their record of disability discrimination is abysmal, which is ironic given that one of their duties is supporting disabled people into the workplace.

I'm not sure what bit you're suggesting is bloody outrageous @Inliverpool1, presumably the government's treatment of people with disabilities?

Inliverpool1 · 29/03/2019 10:35

The lack of adjustment, the fact that it’s the DWP just boggles the mind further. But equally the payout. I simply do not believe it would have been so high had the victim been female, not saying it needs to come down for men, needs raising to an equal level.

What has him being a male got to do with this? The claim would have been based on loss of earnings and injury to feelings, neither of which would take his gender into account.

Here's an example of a much larger payout, to a woman.

Oh ok then we’ll just leave it then
Or people can perhaps utilise this decision to strengthen their own potential cases

Yes, it's an interesting case for anyone that might have a complaint of disability discrimination. But each case is very much situation specific, and requires specialist legal advice.
