Can we find a new word, everyone is fuming about something, it's really starting to piss me off. Or make me mildly annoyed. Or make me anything but bloody fuming.

It’s people who are going to go (over the teacher’s head) to the headteacher and
Kick off
Make some heads roll
Go apoplectic

Rather than just-you know- have a conversation and find out a few facts...they really make me fume!

wanderings · 28/03/2019 21:23

It's a bit crass to talk so much about negative things. Steven Fry once put Room 101 into Room 101, saying that there are so many programmes to talk about things that are crap!

And yes, someone on MN was "fewmin" about their DD watching Jaws at a sleepover.

SkinnyPete · 28/03/2019 21:24

Ha.. OP is fuming! 😀

vintagesewingmachine · 28/03/2019 21:35

Yes. Utterly fed up of the fuming/raging/devastated/heartbroken brigade.
What you really mean is that you're a bit annoyed or upset.
Save the dramatics for when life really smacks you in the face...

What about snapped and farted? Grin

Topseyt · 28/03/2019 21:49

I was just about to say that I prefer "snapped and farted" myself. Grin

HaventGotAllDay · 28/03/2019 21:51

Has anyone heard anyone actually say "fuming" or "livid" since about 1973?
When I read them on here I channel a Margot Leadbetter voice, and always imagine the fumey posters think they're being a bit posh and by lividly fuming their way to the head's office or over the hedge at the neighbour they'll get their own way.

Must be ever so tiring being them tbf.

Dieu · 29/03/2019 02:16

YANBU. And it's usually said by overprotective, delusional mothers!

GreenOliveOrBlackOlive · 29/03/2019 06:42

Oh yes definitely agree with all mentioned.

Snowflake and Shitshow are now also very threadbare through overuse.

ForalltheSaints · 29/03/2019 06:54

YANBU. Overused word.

Rockmysocks · 29/03/2019 08:47

I watched the Jennifer Ellison Dance Mums And the mums were never just fuming they were always seething and fuming at the same time!
