To have a sick day tomorrow (car related)

Hi. We're a 1 car family and rely heavily on my car and I'm the only one able to drive. Passed my MOT 2 days ago. Car wasn't pulling right and engine management light was showing orange. That cleared after MOT, service and £480 lighter but its still not pulling right. It feels really heavy and no power.

We rely heavily as my son goes to special school and its not particularly close. I promised my youngest son we would go football this weekend. 90 miles one way. Looks like will have to catch 2 trains now if we do go.

I'm pissed that it "passed" it's MOT (I have the certificate) I don't want to go back to where it came from I think it needs a Vauxhall specialist but the closest is 12 miles away which will mean no work if I go tomorrow.

AIBU to be pissed about my car and have a sick day.

Obviously OP means pissed off and not pissed. Pedants.

Its heavy and pulling weird because its probably in "limp home" mode because the engine management light is gone. If you go to Vauxhall direct be prepared to pay a fortune but yeah maybe take it to them and get them to plug it in and run a diagnostic - this will tell you the fault and you could choose to get it repaired there or elsewhere (I.e you can just pay for the diagnostic test) but yeah sometimes you have to rearrange plans etc when things like this happen it's just a part of life. YABU for buying a Vauxhall because honestly they're the worst built cars ever aside from French brand cars. Good luck.

*light is ON not gone

If I found out that one of my staff took a sick day to sort out their car, they would be in a disciplinary hearing. You sort personal issues in your own time ie weekend

Lazypuppy · 29/03/2019 13:10

I think you're confused about what an MOT actually does

Confused well, it wasn’t obvious to me. Pissed = drunk most of the time and it wouldn’t be the first time an op posted an annoyed vent after a few drinks, would it?
