Neigjbour rarely puts her own bins put, she wait until other people in the atreet jave out theres pit and just goes and distributes her rubbish and recycling between them! She lives on her own so probably doesn’t have enough rubbish to fill the bin so not sure whether she just thinks its pointless putting them out. I have caught her a few times when its been quiet in the street and I’ve pulled up on drive or am going out to the car, either late at night (if anyone had put their bin out the night before) or sometimes early on a morning when theres no-one around. When her hisband was alive he would sometimes come and put his dog food tins in our bin! Not sure whether anyone else in the street has noticed and it doesnt really bother but I just find it rather amusing Grin I personally wouldnt have the cheek to do it!

I would have not problem with bagged bathroom waste going iny bin, it's a bin fgs

Fine, but I don’t want someone else’s jizz and period blood in my bin! PP had her own bin, she should have put it there!

MrsCasares · 28/03/2019 12:37

Was the Tesco bag full of condoms/tampons not tied up? That’s pretty disgusting Diana.

Jammiebammie · 28/03/2019 12:37

There’s someone round here who does it and it really does bother me! Three times our bins haven’t been collected because they’ve overflowed to the lid not shutting. We have an extra bin for medical reasons and its the biggest pain in the arse having to wait 2 weeks with full bins!

Has she got any mobility problems? Just wondering if she would struggle wheeling a big bin out and therefore find it easier just popping a bag or 2 in someone else’s?

NewSchoolNewName · 28/03/2019 12:39

I'm more shocked that people manage to fill their bins.

We have 2 weekly collections and 3 DC, youngest still in nappies. It’s very easy to fill the bin. Plenty of our neighbours also fill their bins right up judging by the number I see with lids ajar.

YouBumder · 28/03/2019 12:41

I am sure some counties have 3 weekly collections!

We have 3 weekly collection for our grey/non recycling bin. As long as you’re fastidious about recycling it’s fine, although not sure what it’d be like in summer for people who have nappies. The paper/card and glass/tins/plastic bins only get emptied 4 weekly, that’s more difficult. Food and garden waste gets taken away every 2 weeks.

NewSchoolNewName · 28/03/2019 12:46

We have to put food waste in our general rubbish bin here, no separate food collection here, so that adds towards the bin being full up by collection day.

Yura · 28/03/2019 12:48

2 adults, 2 kids (one in nappies). we have a small bin, its never even remotely full. so, yes, also shocked about people filling their bins (2 weekly collection)

NewSchoolNewName · 28/03/2019 12:51

Yura do you get food waste collected separately?

PotterHead1985 · 28/03/2019 12:58

I'd have a problem with it, but then that is because I have to pay for bin collection.

BlackSatinDancer · 28/03/2019 13:04

OP if it doesn't bother you why did you use that title? You've asked if you ABU to think your neighbour is a CF to be using everyone else's bins.

It sounds as if you do think she is a CF and are back-tracking because others don't agree with you.

Yura · 28/03/2019 13:07

@NewSchoolNewName yes, but that is s tiny bin (5l) that is never even remotely full.

Shodan · 28/03/2019 13:08

I wouldn't be bothered if it was my neighbours, but tbh if it was going to be a regular thing I think it would be more courteous to ask first.

I did once see (from my bedroom window) a schoolgirl walk up my drive to put her chocolate wrapper in my bin. I wasn't sure whether to be annoyed at the presumption, pleased that she didn't just throw it on the ground, or wonder why she didn't just pop it in her pocket to dispose of at home. In the end I did all three Grin

My lovely neighbours offered their garden bins (which we pay a subscription for) for the disposal of cuttings of an entire tree that I took down. One of them even told me the best way to squish it all in (spade, if you're interested).

pippistrelle · 28/03/2019 13:23

I wondered if this might be about my husband. He regularly picks up and bags litter from the local area but we don't always have room for it in our bins, so he sneaks out after dark to find a bin with room in it. It's for the greater good rather than cf'ery in his case.

Peghi · 28/03/2019 13:27

I think its awful how the council can charge that much for a bin its not fair on those who have rheres stolen.

Why? If your TV is stolen youd have to pay for a new one or claim on your insurance. Why is this possession any different?

Moomoo06 · 28/03/2019 13:43

BlackSatinDancer nope not backtracking Smile I stand by what I said it doesnt bother me in the slightest, its quite amusing, I just think shes cheeky as she complains about almost everyone on the street but then uses their bins Grin

Shodan I think that was quite sensible of the schoolgirl to put her wrapper in your bin I’d rather kids do that than litter the street Smile

Moomoo06 · 28/03/2019 13:45

Peghi because I once seen the big wagon drive off with someones wheely bin Grin thats probably where most of them go, infact ours dissappeared once but the council replaced it for free

LumpyPillow · 28/03/2019 14:05

A lot of our neighbours have their bins cleaned every few weeks by a company, i could see why that would upset someone if their bin was then used by someone else. Not everyone holds the same standards and chuck stuff in loose with bags not tied or holes in bags. Its not end of world, but yeah i wouldn't want to find a bag of someone elses body fluids in my bin just as i nip out to add the last bit of rubbish before the bin men.

I wouldnt then empty it onto the road though Confused, I'd just buy a bin lock.

troubleswillbeoutofsight · 28/03/2019 14:08

My anally retentive neighbours would go absolutely off their heads with rage if anyone did this where I live. I personally wouldn't mind as long as it was mostly recycling

Proudirishnotpaddy · 28/03/2019 14:08

I would be really pissed off is someone put their condom and period blood bathroom waste in my bin.

If I knew who it was I’d put it on their front step. (Ties up in a double bag so cats etc didn’t get to it).

That is utterly disgusting to put in someone else’s bin

BaronessBomburst · 28/03/2019 14:11

Tampons and condoms in the bin at the same time could be considered unusual. Hmm and therefore totally made-up

NewSchoolNewName · 28/03/2019 14:17

Baroness there’s reasonable explanations for that sort of thing.
First one that springs to mind would be teenage or adult DDs living at home who aren’t menstruating at the same time as their mum.

LordVoldetort · 28/03/2019 14:22

I would get annoyed if one particular neighbor did this to me because I find them annoying in general but I wouldn’t be too worried if others did it.

Would your neighbor be able to put her own bins out? The house around us all have steps so dragging a bin up a load of steps could be hard work (I’m fairly young and struggled when my arthritis was bad)

Bitchywaitress · 28/03/2019 14:23

Erm, how often do you empty the fanny bin. Even just a couple of days could see both tampons and condoms in there.

Travis1 · 28/03/2019 14:27

All of our bins other than the brown are on 3 weekly collections. Utter ballache. Especially when I had a dozen folk staying at Christmas, had to do a coup run to get rid of rubbish,

LordVoldetort · 28/03/2019 14:27

I'm more shocked that people manage to fill their bins

We have weekly food/normal waste collections and recycling collection every 2 weeks. I’m always shocked by the waste of some people near me. 2 big bins full for 4 people and they are always over flowing.
There doesn’t appear to be a rule of having to have the lids closed for them to be collected and we don’t pay for it (directly that is, our council tax bill seems on the steep side if you ask me, and the money comes out of there)
