Deodorant for 7 yo DD

Sorry posting here for traffic.

Any recommendations for a gentle but effective deodorant for children.

DD 7 is having investigations for precocious puberty. We go back to paediatrician in September but since we saw him at the start of March she has had BO a few times which was really noticeable at the end of school yEsterday so we had a little chat about using my deodorant today.

I would hate for her to be worried/picked on. Any advice as to an effective but gentle deodorant please?

Good luck with it! I’m ordering myself the pink grapefruit one when my current roll-on runs out Smile

Green people make a lovely one www.greenpeople.co.uk/shop/by-product/organic-body-care/organic-deodorant-products/neutral-scent-free-deodorant-75ml my daughter used it from about 8 onwards. Lush also do a deodorant block which might be more fun for a 7 year old.

Nothing from the more natural end of the spectrum worked for my DS7 (nearly 8) he would smell seriously bad the windows had to be opened, not his fault obviously or bad hygiene.

We use Mitchum men’s roll on the unfragranced one, alongside a daily morning soap and flannel scrub and evening bath. We change jumper and polo after two wears.

Get a mild one. I started my son off when he was about eight with something that was advertised on TV, involving people leaning against and blending into trees! Can't remember the name of it but it worked. I'm sure puberty had nothing to do with it, it just happens to most kids.

Babipur stock natural deodorants but they're very mild and don't stop sweating. Dove antiperspirants are very gentle. Find one she loves the smell of and avoid stingy ones like Sure. She might prefer cream deodorant rather than roll on?

Also I'd encourage her to shower in the mornings rather than at night. I don't think anyone smells fresh and clean with a flannel wash in the morning (8+ hours in bed means bacteria have ample time to breed on the sweat and dead skin cells, the cause of BO. It's not just armpits that get smelly).

Another vote for Pitrock. You can also buy cheaper non branded on amazon. It's just a type of salt.

I use Sanex Dermo Invisible stick deodorant - no aluminium, parabens or alcohol, and second pps about using soap rather than shower gel.

I've tried a lot of the none chemical none antiperspirant ones and I think the best are the Doctor Organic Tea Tree or Lavendar ones from H&B - both Tea Tree and Lavendar are naturaly anti bacterial and that's what contributes to the smell.

My 9 year old uses this one:

It’s good and gentle too.

My DD has used one since age 8 when she hit adrenarche. She has had sensitive skin in the last but was fine using simple soap and Dove Roll-On. For me it was about finding something gentle that didn’t break the bank balance and was easily available in the weekly shop.
