To think low flush toilets are worse for the environment?

I think low flush toilets are actually very bad for the environment. It seems like it always takes more than one flush to get everything gone (even just wee) and I always push the max button. I think these new styled toilets are unhygienic and because they are unhygienic they require cleaning more often, which actually uses more water.

I think old fashioned toilets were more efficient although they used more water per flush, they actually used less water overall. AIBU?

In the water shortage in the 80s (I think) we were told to put a brick in the cistern to save water

@TheWomanin12B yes. My grandmother had one in her flat. When I was about 6 my psychotic sister (not an exaggeration) locked me in overnight in the dark and it was dripping. Was absolutely terrified. She was about 4.

You poor thing @Sanityisamyth. I can imagine how terrifying that was. Sorry for asking, I was mainly just wondering if I'd missed a general safety worry about them. Flowers

I agree op
Sometimes I don’t even flush toilet paper as it even a couple of sheets won’t go away with the flush. It ends up landfilled! Which is not good. Toilets used to flush powerfully and clear everything.
