As a subject header in a marketing email from Boomf. The edible photo marshmallow company owned by James Middleton.

The email is not flogging funny cards or witty gifts, just marshmallows, that you can presumable have printed with children’s faces for Mother’s Day.

What the hell is funny about having a weak pelvic floor? And what has it got to do with the product? Nothing. Just a gag at the expense of mothers. And this is supposed to make me want to send money their way?

Am I being petty or is this really unfunny and rude?

Just a joke? Get over it? How about a racist or disablist joke, should we get over those too? I like a laugh but I just don’t see what’s funny about pelvic floor problems. Changing underwear several times a day. Unable to run for a bus or chase your children round the park. Ha bloody ha. Let’s laugh ah the stupid women whose bodies were damaged by the act of giving us life. That’ll show them how much we love them.

I very often make a bit of a joke about it at my own expense actually. But it’s my joke to make, no-one else’s.

They've replied to me with an apology saying their marketing team are looking into it.
