Desperately putting of cleaning the over and scrubbing the kitchen floor!

So far I've walked the dog.

Had 3 cups of tea since 6am.

Had a gossip over the fence with Sandra next door.

Scrolled through MN

Stripped my bed.

And got the dishwasher out ready for my new washing machine tomorrow.

I really really do not want to do these chores 🙄

What are you putting off doing?

Well I've sprayed the oven with oven pride and got the racks soaking in the bag. Going to eat the last slice of cake before attacking the floor with a scrubbing brush and cif. Dd needs picking up from nursery at 12 so I better crack on 🙄 why can't I be rich and have a cleaner 😩

I've actually been productive this morning (the afternoon always goes downhill) but I've managed to put off planting my potatoes for two weekends. It only needs me to put compost in the new potato bags and stick the sodding potatoes in the compost but can I motivate myself?
(I'm not going to tell myself to just FDI this afternoon because that will also put pay to what I'm supposed to be doing now as well as not getting me outside)

Langrish · 25/03/2019 11:05

Beginning the spring cleaning: up at 6, raring to go, long walk with dog, breakfast, considering shopping for cleaning materials now.
Oh just get on with it woman (me, not you!)

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 25/03/2019 11:06

The whole house needs cleaning and tidying. I had 5.5 hours whilst the dc are at school. Down to 3.5 hours now and I'm on MN whilst binge watching shit on Netflix.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 25/03/2019 11:33

@cardibach and @Brilliantidiot Henry is a dickhead. Fact. I’ve not even started yet and the evil bastard is side eyeing me.

chocolatelog · 25/03/2019 12:18

I don't know why I put jobs off, I've done the best part of the oven and finished the floor, even took the kitchen bin outside and disinfected it and hoses it down.Feel so much better that's it done so why's it so hard to find the motivation to do it when the end result is marvellous 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am fed up of boring old house work....but it has to be done.

I have cleaned every room upstairs and striped my sons bed.
Washer is on for the 3rd time.

Just about to have some lunch and relax for half hour before I find some more jobs.

BricksInTheWall · 25/03/2019 13:21

Putting away the shit tons of clothes that were washed dried folded yesterday and are still sat in their baskets in the utility room... good job it has a door. Hoovering the stairs. Calling my car insurance to renew. General tidy up. Deciding on something for dinner.... you name it I ain't doing it today.

Now I'm full of reheated Gumbo from yesterday and really can't move.

cardibach · 25/03/2019 13:45

I’ve managed to get off my arse. Been for a walk, taken bottles to recycle, dropped stuff at charity shop, bought a not-Henry for hoovering, don’t some cursory ‘research’.
Noe I’ve heard up my vegan butter bean crunch casserole from yesterday’s dinner and am going to watch Netflix for a bit.

cardibach · 25/03/2019 13:46

Done cursory research, not don’t. Although for the quality I might as well not have.

FriarTuck · 25/03/2019 13:47

Well I've slowed right down and every so often I keep thinking 'I'll just on Amazon if it's showing a map for where my delivery is' which leads to a check of the latest news and then back to Mumsnet. And I was doing so well.

M4J4 · 25/03/2019 14:07

Any tips for oven cleaning? It hasn't been cleaned in months Blush

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 25/03/2019 14:14

Putting off cutting the grass. I flipping hate it (takes about two hours so not a quick job, and I’ll have to single handedly move the 15 ft trampoline too, grrrrr). I was semi geared up to go out there over an hour ago and even traded walking the dogs with DH, but I’m still here MNing and drinking tea/eating a danish......coffee mousse......bag of chipsticks ......I never normally snack! That’s how much I’m trying to put it off. 🙁 And now OP, you’ve reminded me that when I switch the Aga off next week, for summer, I’ll have to first clean the oven so it’s useable. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

chocolatelog · 25/03/2019 14:15

Well all in all (apart from the bits I've done this morning) I've managed to do 5 loads of washing and get it out on the line. Tidy the utility. Wash the floors downstairs. Teenage dd washed up and cleaned the bathroom (she's got a thing about cleaning bathrooms atm so I'm taking full advantage) all that's left to do now is put my bedding back on. Then it's school run
,dinner and baths. Then it'll be more cleaning tomorrow 🙄
Jesus what a life..

So far I've fed the baby, had a shower and had a nap. I did put a washing on but hubby had filled the machine so just had to press the buttons.

PerpendicularVincent · 25/03/2019 15:14

I still haven't been for a run, but I have done the weekly shop, vacuumed including behind the sofa and am about to do the washing up Sad.
