Sorry, it's another dog one.
Walking home with my 10 year old after a school event tonight. It was dark. Have to walk up a stretch of path past houses - very poorly lit because the council haven't cut the trees back in years. So poorly lit that we needed the torch on my phone. About half way along the path, a front door opens and this small-ish dog comes hurtling towards us, barking loudly. DS very startled - he's not afraid of dogs but one coming towards you at full pelt, barking, in the dark, is enough to startle anyone. He didn't scream or flap, he just stood still while the dog was yapping and running about.
So I said - loudly, but not shouting - "control your dog!" Owner just stood on the doorstep. So I said again "Please, control your dog!" Her response was "Don't you dare raise your voice to me".
Why do dog owners think this sort of thing is OK?
