To be worried about going into London on Saturday?

Taking our baby to London for an important medical appointment.

I'm a bit worried about civil unrest with the march; should I be? We were going to take train but I think we'll drive (DH used to London and street parking)

It's not quite in the centre

Take the train.

What hospital?

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 21/03/2019 20:26

Well, yes, there is a great deal of civil unrest in the House of Commons at the moment. But don't worry - I'm pretty sure MPs don't convene at weekends. Grin

If I see those fs, those racist t**ts in their fucking flat caps and stupid ugly faces in their usual meeting place (watering hole near us) in the morning, I shall post here and you will know to avoid the whole bloody thing.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 21/03/2019 20:39

I wouldn’t, the moods getting ugly.

UrsulaPandress · 21/03/2019 21:05

Well aren’t you a treasure LordProf?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 21:20

When you have the riot police at the end of your road escorting gangs of middle aged thugs (yelling racist abuse at you) past your door whenever they fancy having a march, or congregate for a few pints before heading off to hassle other marches, then you can comment. They are scary feckers.

SquirmOfEels · 21/03/2019 21:46

there are limits on demos in central London - not to hamper freedom of expression, but simply to keep London working IYSWIM, so no-one's getting middle aged thugs just whenever the thugs fancy it

Unless of course your referring to the Spurs event, because footie crowds are herded along the easiest to police routes between stadium and transport hubs, and if you live near one of them you soon learn to pay attention to home fixture dates and who the opposition is. And yes, you will get disruption time and time again.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/03/2019 21:49

Nope they are regular enough. Not football fans but - think along lines of UKIP/EDL. We do have quite a lot of demos and marches around here. Last Saturday, Monday, this Saturday...
