Peppa bloody pig in garden centre cafe

Out for lunch while DCs at school to a nice busy local garden centre cafe. Had a look around then ordered food.

2 women sit down with a toddler in high chair. One provides the toddler with a tablet and proceeds to blast out Peppa bloody Pig episodes Angry

The most annoying thing was that there were child's headphones poking out of her bag.

AIBU or is this just rude and entitled?

YANBU. I hate when people do this. You/your child are not the centre of the universe. It's even worse when it's on buses 😭

icanthelpyou · 21/03/2019 17:51

I hate this too. Parents talk loudly over it. It’s so annoying and often happens when I’m waiting at my DDs clubs. It’s ignorant.

ALongHardWinter · 21/03/2019 18:10

YANBU,they were rude and entitled. I am heartily sick of people in public places playing shit stuff out loud on their phones/tablets. I can't get away from it. It's on the bus,in coffee shops and cafés,bloody everywhere. Not just kids either. Unfortunately in my experience, asking them, politely to use headphones, invariably prompts a rude response. I've only ever twice asked someone to do this, both times they were extremely rude. So I don't bother anymore,I just plug my earphones in and listen to something to block them out.

ALongHardWinter · 21/03/2019 18:12

Just a thought, why is it ALWAYS Peppa bloody pig when it's a child who is the culprit?

peppaaargh · 21/03/2019 19:45

Or baby bloody shark

Oh no. I wanted it to be Peppa Pig actually sitting in the Garden Centre cafe. Sad
Wondered if Mummy Pig was a 'table saver'. Grin

Oh come on, stop being a misery! This wouldn’t bother me at all to be honest. It’s a garden centre cafe, why should everyone be silent around you?! Presumably other people are talking, moving around, making noise - it’s just part of the hustle and bustle of public spaces. It’s not a library! Why shouldn’t a toddler enjoy a little cartoon whilst his mum has a batter over lunch? I just can’t get worked up over this at all.

peppaaargh · 21/03/2019 20:25

@Cloudyyy the little one absolutely can enjoy peppa pig - with the headphones she had with her.

Last thing anybody wants to listen to. Believe me, George Pig's wailing was much louder and more piercing than any of the cafe chatter and clatter
