I have a verge outside my house that seems to have a label that only dogs can see saying Dog Loo Here! To be fair though, vast majority of owners are good about picking it up and I guess they've got to go somewhere.

If you don't want dogs peeing on your gatepost or wall, get the product a pp mentioned or this and apply that. Lasts longer than simply swilling the post and pavement down; save you stressing in the long run.

Strugglingtodomybest · 20/03/2019 11:25

You can't be serious? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on here.

AnnieOH1 · 20/03/2019 11:29

Years ago a neighbour a few doors down between us and the dog park asked us if we could avoid his wall area with our Dane x Rhodesian (who at the time was on steroids so he basically could fill a bath tub with it!!!) We just taught him to avoid that area, no big deal.

BaronessBomburst · 20/03/2019 11:30

Fill a couple of plastic 2 litre cola/ water bottles with tap water and stand them by your wall/ gatepost. The dogs won't pee on them. It solved the problem for DM.

Dottierichardson · 20/03/2019 11:30

If you start spreading toxic or other irritant substances on a public pavement then you will find that you are the one who is in trouble.

KarmaStar · 20/03/2019 11:42

This is a joke post?

Climbingahoneytree · 20/03/2019 11:44

I wouldn't ring 999 but I'd definitely ring 101 and get it logged with them.

Are you actually joking? You're suggesting somebody calls the police over a dog weeing in a public street? No wonder our services are stretched with busy bodies thinking complete non-crimes need to be reported to the police. I can't actually believe this has been suggested.

Dotty1970 · 20/03/2019 11:45

Regarding calling police.... OMG seriously! ConfusedI'm joking

Fazackerley · 20/03/2019 11:47

yeah me too dotty

it was funny while it lasted

Dotty1970 · 20/03/2019 11:49

🤣 I maybe should have added a winky emoji

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 11:49

They literally can't control where their dog pees and poos. If it was a poo and they didn't clean it up then I'd say fair enough but it's pee. If it bothers you pour some warm soapy water over it but if you say anything you'll look so precious.

Jammydogger · 20/03/2019 11:53

Get a grip - please!

Bookworm4 · 20/03/2019 11:56

You say you've never seen them walk the dog so how have you decided it's this particular dog?

Climbingahoneytree · 20/03/2019 11:56

Dotty didn't realise you were being sarcastic. Yes, winky emoji please and several flower emojis for the OP!Grin

NutElla5x · 20/03/2019 12:23

Has op explained how she stops her dog pissing in the street when it's out on it's walks yet?

greenelephantscarf · 20/03/2019 12:59

They literally can't control where their dog pees and poos.

yes they can. by walking closer to the kerb rather than fence side.

Alsohuman · 20/03/2019 13:00

You don’t walk a dog, do you?

youknowmedontyou · 20/03/2019 13:02
Biscuit
1shotcappuccino · 20/03/2019 13:06

Keep putting down some nearly neat Jeyes fluid. The dog won't want to pee there any more

Babdoc · 20/03/2019 13:09

Op, walk your own dog round to the neighbour’s house every day and get it to piss all over the pavement directly in front of it. See how they bloody like it.

squirrelnutkins1 · 20/03/2019 13:14

We used to have this problem. I kept putting bleach outside and it soon stopped!

justasking111 · 20/03/2019 13:17

Jeyes fluid diluted solved our problem gawd knows what it did to dogs noses but they raced past our gate posts. You have to renew every few weeks.

Flicketyflack · 20/03/2019 13:31

YANBU that is grim Angry

I have the same where I Iive and I use Jeyes fluid too.

Climbingahoneytree · 20/03/2019 13:52

yes they can. by walking closer to the kerb rather than fence side.

This is stupid

BMW6 · 20/03/2019 14:29

Surely if you walked your male dog on the kerb side they would piss on peoples cars, which may be even more objectionable to the car owners?

OP dogs will pee where others have, so I suspect the strong smell is of many dogs over a long period of time.

I am told that soda water neutralizes the smell so would a) solve the stinkiness and b) cancel the "piss here" beacon.

Soda water surely kinder to environment than bleach or Zoflora also.
