Sorry, I realise that literally doesn't help you at all. Just a musing really, that he REALLY acting was his calling but when it came to it he didn't want it enough.

Happy, voiceover work is as equally hard work and skilful as getting acting work. (I also work in the industry, film/audio/tv/theatre)
Also, a lot of voice artists actually have their own recording equipment/room in their homes, they tend to get the majority, but obviously not all, of the work as there's no time wasting involved with hiring studios/equipment, travelling etc.
Have a look at castingnow.co.uk, there's usually some extras work going among other stuff, some free some paid. Some totally weird, occasionally 😀.

I should say that none of the voice work I've done was paid. It was all to help friends out with their projects, and yes, recorded at home using my own equipment. Mind you, I haven't been RADA trained, merely a stereotypical British heritage middle class, middle-aged woman.

The problem is that at any one time, over 90% of trained actors are out of work. Hence they will be competing with you when applying for anything, voice, tv or film. If you were the casting director would you choose someone who has studied at RADA for three years and who knows their way round a film/tv set or someone with absolutely no experience? There's always the offchance I guess that you are just who the director is looking for but I think the possibility is pretty tiny.

As others have said, how can you attend auditions if you are already working? Please don't give up the day job.

Do you have any marketable skill OP? This might be another way in.

My DD picked up some work through modelling and having a musical skill as a youngish teen, this was initially via an open casting. She is doing a theatre design course now - prefers behind the scenes.

My sister is a voice artist - she works in the Far East (she works in English). She got into it initially through teaching and an English teaching /learning radio show. From there she progressed into narration and voiceover and regularly TV appearances. She also writes non fiction. I think you need to have more than one skill in the media/creative industries on the whole.

Maybe newer media like podcasts or You Tube is the way to go now.

Voice acting: Have a read of this excellent blog post

I am just trying to get into it full time now. I have a degree in drama from a reputable place that got me almost nowhere, now pushing 40 I have spent a few thousand on 1:1 coaching, a home recording studio and professional demo reels, branding, website etc. You have to run yourself as a business, it takes a lot of passion, hard work, business nouse and dedication alongside talent.
If it's not vocational (for me, a burning desire from pre-school age) then, for the sake of your mental health and wallet, best just to stick to it as a hobby!
