Who do you think would make a good PM for the country and why?

I'm hard pushed to think who - DS reckons maybe Jeremy Clarkson could step up to the plate (he's joking....I hope!)

Jeremy Clarkson. Oh how lovely we could have a national festival of racist language each year on March 29th.
No I can't think of anyone who could lead us out of this current mess.

I don’t think Thresa has done anything wrong. She is on a hiding to nothing.

It’s like we’re in a room with three doors. Vote door 1 - no. Door 2 - no. Door 3. No. Jump out the window - no. Oh look we’re stuck in here.

I’m definitely no fan of Theresa May, but I sort of think that at the moment, as far as Brexit is concerned it doesn’t really matter who the PM is. Unless you also massively changed the make up of Parliament, any PM would have exactly the same issues (not being able to get a majority for anything except more time).
Having said that she is doing a particularly bad job, I mean, her own whip abstained from voting!

But it wouldn’t be the same. The WA looks like it does because of the line she chose to take on brexit. That line was taken to appease the ERG rather than there being any support for it elsewhere. A different approach would have ended with a different WA that might have passed. At the very least the sort of indicative votes we’re discussing having now would have been done ages ago.
I’m not sure many would keep presenting the same bill despite it having the greatest ever defeat the first time it was voted on either.

Because British needs a 95 year old prime minister? I'm not sure you'd get many on board with that one.

at least may is trying to get things sorted out, she could have jacked it in months ago.as a matter of interest i don't see many men pushing for the job, so many politicians are all mouth and no substance.
i respect her for being a strong woman.

If that was replying to me, yes I agree, I meant that from where we are now, I don’t see swapping out PM making a huge difference. A different PM from the start of course may have led to a different situation now.

I'd rather we got a PM who could be honest and admit that the task at hand is impossible, damaging to the UK economy and a waste of time.

Brian Cox. I know he’s joked about it before but I think he’d make a brilliant PM.

Gina Miller - intelligent, informed, fearless, knows how to listen and discuss, isn't (as far as one can tell) motivated by her own self-image but genuinely wants the best for the country. Unfortunately on the record as not wanting to run for political office.

Katie Price. She's run for parliament before so I don't see why she couldn't give it another go.

We need a cabinet of all the talents to include Keir Starmer, Ruth Davidson, Nicola Sturgeon, Ken Clarke, Brian Cox, Mark Carney, Sandy Toksvig.

Genuinely, my DH would be brilliant. Or my DM.

For the most part, I agree that changing now wouldn’t help. We’re a bit stuffed really.

I think Yvette Cooper needs to be added to that cabinet. She’s been pretty good on brexit so far.

Brian Cox would be great. Evidence-led policy making would be refreshing. Not all this playing to the gallery a la Javid, May, Johnson etc...

Yes otherwise she could destroy Scotland just a bit more than she already did eh.

Scotland and also most if not all of North England. She could personally go from city to city dismantling the libraries, councils and schools single-handedly. I reckon she'd be more than delighted.

successive governments have all done damage, over spending or cut backs. not just one person to blame,

@rainingonmyfireworks it was just a joke 😂 But I do remember her last manifesto and it included free plastic surgery for everyone and extra money for having an affair with a premiership footballer 😂 Loads of people have forgotten about this but it’s true!
